Members AlexElizabeth
New medianet photos. Guess I'll just put them here. Do not even try to tell me they're going to attempt something with Nathan and f-cking Keku. http://www.abcmedianet.com/web/showpage/showpage.aspx?global_id=000261&type=asset&typecode=ph

Members katie_9918
Seriously, this is all they can come up with for Liz? Panting so hard over a guy she rejected for another guy that she's positively thirsty for dirt on the new girlfriend? On the other hand, no Sabrinella on Valentine's Day is a good thing. Members difficultdiva
Then, that's going to be an issue, until more gay characters are introduced on the show. Folks will complain if the gay characters have no love lives or have no chance to be written as sexual beings. Folks will complain when the gay characters do have love lives and are written as sexual beings. We have to give these writers a chance and see if they're invested in wanting to do more for these characters. Instead of viewers seeming them as just quotas of having them just be in the background and only featured once a month.
Members DRW50
I see what you're saying, but between stories about how gay bashing is a great way to keep a man, and how gay men love to put the moves on straight rape victims, it's tough for me to give Ron Carlivati chances at this point. Members cuzIsaySo
Bu then wouldnt the entire canvas be subjected to that kind of scrutinity? A character is supposed to act a certain way and if they happen to be a minority so be it. I dont like shawn and what hes doing but it has nothing to do with his skin color. I think sabrina is an annoying twit with the moral fiber and the maturity of justin bieber but it doesnt speak of the way i view puerti ricans. Felix is an overbearing busydody but he would be the same way if he wanted to get into a girls pants. Limiting characters actions based on the fact that theyre minorities will only further the lack of presence on screen of such minorities. I would love to see an evil deaf tranny from india just becuz this would just be totally out of the box. doesnt mean next time a transexual character would be on i would assume theyre evil or death or indian. Members DRW50
If straight characters were a minority, yes. There's a reason that the biggest [!@#$%^&*] around gets GLAAD awards (including Ron's OLTL material). Pickings are slim. So when the material is trash, it stands out more, because there is so little else around.
Members Vee
Her name was Shell Kepler. If you're going to insist on chiming in on every single inch of a show's history that you googled so you could post something, try to get the dead woman's name right. Members cuzIsaySo
Or maybe rc is attempting to show the audience that just as their straight counterparts gay characters can be either good or bad and anywhere in between. I have only heard of the gay bashing to get your man storyline but if i get anything out of it is that Kish were the main couple and nick chavez was the spoiler willing to do anything to get the guy. Not any different than countless of straight couples who were faced with a devious interloper. I make it a rule not to give rc any credit but in that specific case i dont see how he is making gay people look bad. I like brad, i cant stand felix and i am willing to see where lucas is headed and if he turns into a huge manwhore so be it. Expecting every gay characters to reflect well to the general audience is just as detrimental as making all of them skeevy.
Members DRW50
When so many gay-bashings are dismissed as being made up, or as something that the person brought on themselves, I think it's very different, but we can agree to disagree. I think gay = predator is one of the most dangerous writing choices out there, and Ron loves to do that type of writing. But I'm not a fan, so I'm sure I'm biased. Members John
The issue I have right now is that RC is making Lucas Brad & Felix's only trait that they are Gay. Has Felix even helped as a nurse. Has he done anything at the hospital???
Members John
Hell GLAAD didnt even see GH worthy and Days is the sole nominee & winner in the daily drama category What does that say about GLBTQI roles in daytime? Not good IMHO http://daytimeconfidential.zap2it.com/2014/01/30/days-of-our-lives-snags-glaad-nomination
Members cuzIsaySo
I think i saw him shuffle some chart once does that count? But i wouldnt say that felix's main character trait has been to be gay. Being pathetically and un naturally protective of sappina's "love life" has been far more time cconsumming. I cant stand felix so i cant really comment on hij and lucas is still new although i knew him before so theres this built up interest already. But Brad has shown plenty of layers in the past few months that makes up for the allegedly horrible way he was introduced. At least to me. Can i assume that agreeing to disagree doesnt mean we can not trade our respective POV, john becuz i enjoy reading opposite view as long as we are both adult about it. (I will try my damnedest i swear, lol)
