I was really looking forward to this because of the great cast, but the first episode was just beyond horrendous. It does make the PP productions look masterful in comparison.

If that's what they want to do, fine. But I'd rather they not try to go head to head with crap like Venice and just make, I dunno, a soap opera. If it has lesbians in it, great.

Perhaps this "isn't the show for you." *wink*wink*

Lesbian-focused drama to pander to a certain base? I felt that was the case with Venice so I never even thought of watching it. At this point, I feel like Crystal Chappell has chosen this as a career path (this will be her third production, no?) and is just looking to produce solid products. I'm a straight chick. I'm open to watching anything as long as its written, produced well - gay, straight, black, white, all of the above. Hopefully that is the case with BH. The promo makes it looks solid - family drama, political drama, romantic drama. I originally rolled my eyes when I heard about all the lesbian characters on this show (Sarah discussing all her first kisses with females) but the promos changed my mind.

Pandering has such a negative connotation. I just think she's trying to create a production designed to appeal to that market segment. I think she is doing what BET does. I am not AA, but I watch BET.

I wasn't aware Crystal Chappell had a career path at this point.

Not a fan per se, and don't really have a strong opinion about her one way or another. But she's trying to create something and seems to have devoted a lot of resources to the project. Maybe it's not everyone's idea of a successful career path. And in some ways it does seem like a vanity project, but I'm not going to dismiss it as such.

I thought the returns were fine. It was me. Not them.

It was me too Angela.

Wow, I'm so late here.

I still need to watch the first few episodes, but honestly, I'm waiting for my guys James DePaiva and Grant Aleksander to show up. THEN I'll really be ready to watch. :)

I haven't heard anything about this show in a while, and even its website doesn't give specific dates as to when new episodes will be available. I was wondering if production has been suspended due to financial trouble, or perhaps due to the large negative reaction that the first episodes received.

They've always said the series would drop in early 2014. I don't see any reason to be concerned.
