Members JAS0N47
The sad news continues to come in with the fourth "Days"-related death I've found out about this week. This time, it is one of the Hortons. Actress Kate Woodville, who played Marie Horton, daughter of Tom and Alice Horton, in 1977 has passed away at the age of 74. KATE WOODVILLE IN LOVING MEMORY DECEMBER 4, 1938-JUNE 5, 2013 (Marie Horton, 1977) Kate Woodville, who played Marie Horton on "Days of Our Lives" for 44 episodes in 1977 has passed away. Woodville died of cancer on June 5, 2013 in Portland, Oregon. She was 74. Katharine Woodville was born on December 4, 1938 in London, England. Her acting career began at the age of 16, when she appeared in a touring production of "Murder in the Cathedral." In 1967, she moved to the United States. She had a lengthy acting career on TV in the 1960s and 1970s. Her last acting role was on "Eight Is Enough" in 1979. She gave up her acting career in 1980 to focus on her other love: training and breeding horses. Woodville appeared as the first murder victim on the TV series "The Avengers" in 1961, and would later be married to the show's star, actor Patrick Macnee, from 1965-1969. In 1979, Woodville married actor Edward Albert (the son of "Green Acres" star Eddie Albert). They remained married until his death in 2006. Woodville is survived by her daughter with Albert, Thais. Members DRW50
I had no idea she was married to Patrick McNee and Edward Albert. I wish I could see her run as Marie. How long was she on in 1977? Was she well-received?

Members JAS0N47
May 13-December 7, 1977. I skimmed briefly through the SOD synopses...Marie didn't have much a storyline. She came back to Salem because Tom had gotten sick and she helped with his recovery at the hospital. Towards the end of her run, the last mention in SOD around end of November 1977 was that Dr. Walter Griffin had asked "Sister Marie" to give some much needed guidance to his daughter Patty. But now Walter is entertaining romantic thoughts about Marie. He tells Marie that he is finding himself drawn to her, and that he has totally immersed himself in his work since his wife died. But whatever storyline they had planned (if any) I guess was dropped then. Marie then left on 12/7/77 (with no mention of her leaving in SOD) and Walter's last episode was 2/16/78. Members DRW50
Thanks. Was this all Ann Marcus? I wonder why they didn't have her stay to Christmas.
Members Paul Raven
Ann Marcus took over in April 77 so maybe Marie was introduced at the tail end of Pat Falken Smith's tenure. It depends on how soon a new writer's stories make it to air.
