He looks like him.  He's the perfect choice.   Maybe if we could channel in John Carradine from 1940 that would be better, but BC gets the job done.

To me Dr. Strange is classically handsome, whereas Cumberbatch has weirder features.

    I don't know in what universe but apparently people view him as a sex symbol, I don't get it bc he is anything but
