I will probably get hated on for this, but I had a real problem with Angie in Episode 40. She went to a therapist office and proceeded to tell a stranger all of her daughter's business. It's just a thing I really can't stand (probably because my mom does the exact same thing). But that really wasn't her story to share.

No hate but that's the whole point of therapy: a safe place where you can dump your garbage and sort through your feelings. It's not like the doctor can/will go back to Cass and tell her what Angie said.

*Exactly* Otherwise, what would even be the point of therapy. And like a good therapist (and rare on tv) he did keep on trying to re-focus it on Angie's experience and feelings about it specifically. On another forum someone complained the shrink didn't talk enough and Angie just went into monologues--again, that's what effective therapy should do--just trigger you to sort your own feelings out.

I am hopeful they will go in the opposite direction with Cassandra than what they did with Bianca, but maybe they are hoping to recreate the magic of that whole storyline so who knows.

I do agree with your other points.

This sounds awful, and rape is rape is rape--but the fact that Cassandra's story was sex trafficking, she doesn't even know WHO the father is (so we can't have--god I hope not--the father's protective and understanding brother come on the scene) makes the kinda story they did tell with Bianca even less viable here, IMHO.

When I look at Jesse right now, I see Trayvon Martin. I see writers kicking a black man to the curb. I see writers downing a black man and not putting an AA in a positive light, which the AA community obviously needs desperately at this uncertain time in light of the Trayvon Martin case.

I don't know why Agnes Nixon, Ginger Smith and the writers would want to desecrate and humiliate the character of Jesse and make him into such a terrible person, which he was alot stronger and sure of himself in the beginning of his characters entrance on the canvas of Pine Valley.

I feel very badly for Darnell Williams because our country needs to see black men portrayed in a positive light and his character of Jesse Hubbard is not being given that opportunity at this time when our country needs much more better than what his character is at this time.

This is just bad timing and a bad time for his character to be going through what he is going through at this time. The writers could have done much better and what a great time for them to have written him in a positive light, especially due to the disturbing times we are living in today. It would give hope to the AA community to have good representation for their much needed benefit.

All comments welcomed, even the negative ones too.

I have been reading your posts for the sake of entertainment but even I have my limits. What frikn planet are you on to so blazenly make that comparison. Do you realize that you are comparing a dang fictional character to a young man who tragically and unjustifiably lost his life. What crack are you smoking to even try to equate the life of any AMC character to that of Trayvon Martin. In doing so you trivialize the seriouness of the issues surrounding that young man's death Seriously I think you need to seek help. Your obsession is heavily concerning.

I get where you're coming from, but Angie wasn't dumping just her garbage. She was going on in detail about what happened to Cassandra. I get why they needed it storywise, but from a practical perspective it is possible to dump your stress and concerns on a therapist without also detailing the gory details of trama that someone else experienced.

Oh dear. You just made me think of something. A lot of states let a rapist sue for custody of his offspring. I hope and pray that's not where this story is headed.

I really hope you are right. But god, by the end ABC's AMC had pretty much beaten the whole "children are love no matter what" angle to a bloody pulp. Just as someone who is pro choice, I would like to see a show actually show a woman making that choice and have it be respected. But like I said I don't know where they are going both with AMC's previous history and TOLN's past scripts. I mean we are talking about the people who had David stalking Cara around the hospital to shame her about an abortion which she was lying about anyway. I am not sure they have the appropriate level of class or tact for the story.

I didn't think she went into heavy detail really--wouldn't someone assume she did those things when she was kidnapped into sex slavery. Angie doesn't even know huge "details."

He really should have been the one acting as her shrink because he can save everything and everyone.

Not to pick on you about the shrink thing--and trust me I had a mom who would talk about us kids--personal private things--to a shrink and it drove me crazy. But as an adult now, I see that (unless the shrink was a quack) it wouldn't leave that room, so it's not even like her telling a close family friend or member the details. Of course if this had been the 1950s or earlier, a shrink would then have the right and even obligation to call up his patient's husband or father and report back eveyrthing she had said...

I'll have to rewatch but I thought the therapist (name?) already knew about Cass' situation from Dixie. It sounded like Dixie referred A&J to him for counseling.

I hope we get a therapy session with Jesse. Lord knows he needs it. That could be some powerful stuff and I truly believe that Darnell would tear that [!@#$%^&*] up. For all his Mr. Furley tendencies (which IMO have faded recently), I think DW has a talent for portraying pain and anguish. He was great with Jesse's return and his private eulogy over Ellie's grave was IMO some of the best work of his career. I feel like the time is ripe to tear Jesse apart and look at the pieces so they can deal with the damage done to the character.
