When it came to upstanding black officer of the law, I preferred Derek anyway. I hated how quickly they gave him the boot once Jesse came back. I hated how they got rid of all the Fryes, as if Pine Valley wasnt big enough for two black families

Loved Derek! I wasn't as fond of the recast because he just seemed so uptight compared to the old Derek. I loved Derek and Livia. Mimi was just okay. I adored teenaged Danielle dating Reggie.

Old Derek had the years behind him but he was cuddly and not remotely credible or intimidating to me.

NuDerek was hot as [!@#$%^&*] and serious. I remember they had him hit on Krystal at one point and I actually found that scorching. They were dumb to let him slip.

I liked Derek and Krystal, too. They actually went on a date or two IIRC. It was too bad they did not let that so farther.

He was definetly MUCH better than the other Derek recast. What were they thinking with this one?
