Too bad DAYS' demos didn't do much. You get a +314,000 in Viewers and only a +11,000, and no ratings point increase, in demos? That was pretty disappointing.

Yeah, disappointing! GH still beat Days in the key demos unfortunately. I wasn't expecting that. GH did a lot better than I expected considering all the talk about how horrible the OLTL3 stories are.

A lot of people don't care about story if it means they can gawk at Roger Howarth or Michael Easton. Considering all the press hype I'm surprised it wasn't higher.

I think it will take a lot of work before DAYS has a shift in younger demos. Their young characters are all a little disconnected from reality, and they don't have any real mid-20s/early 30s group. Hopefully that can change. They have some great actors to work with.

Just because some people with strong personalities can't stand Cartini or can't stand the OLTL3 doesn't mean people who like the show don't care about story.

The story is fine; it gives a lot of prominence to the Quartermaines (by this I mean AJ, Michael, Tracy, and Monica - not just the new Q's) and their feelings about each other as well as others who they love. It also features other characters such as Sonny, Carly, and Sam,. And I didn't notice a lot of press hype.

I saw the stuff about how DC loves this story so much, and so on.

I don't see any actual story going on, just mugging, but I'm glad people are enjoying it.

Seriously, do you need a description of the events of the plot, the conflicts, the protagonists, the obstacles that have been overcome, the decisions characters have made and implemented as a result of events, and the obstacles that appear on the horizon?

There's a difference between not liking a story and there not being a story.

In addition to plot, there have also been great character moments in the Quartermaines' relations to each other and reactions after finding out about Michael's rape.

There's no point in giving a particular explanation because it will all be rewritten in 3-6 months anyway. Most of what I see is a confusing rush to bring in pet OLTL actors.
As I said, if you're enjoying it, I'm happy. That's what matters.

Not necessarily, it could be men and teens.

Yes, you could be correct. But still when it comes to Soaps, it's the 18-49 and to a lesser extent the 18-34 women demographics that count. As Toups said, it's pretty disappointing.

I have never seen a show bounce back like Days. ATWT and GL never recovered and the same can be said for AMC post Pratt. The writting is great these days, and I'm glad word spread.

I let my computer record it last week, so I may watch it at some point, but there are still way too many things that I hate about Days to make me want to return as a daily viewer. If it was as simple as my loathing of the vile Elvis/Sami rapemance, I could handle just fast forwarding through those parts, but it's not that. Wake me when the DiMeras are no longer the main family in town and when Daniel is gone. Until then I'll settle for catching the odd clip here and there of characters that I can still stomach.
