The Millers

THE MILLERS stars Will Arnett as Nathan Miller, a recently divorced local roving news reporter looking forward to living the singles’ life until his parents’ marital problems unexpectedly derail his plans. After Nathan finally breaks the news of his divorce to his parents, Carol (Emmy Award winner Margo Martindale) and Tom (Emmy Award winner Beau Bridges), his father is inspired to follow suit and stuns the family when he leaves his wife of 43 years. Already in shock, Jack is even more aghast when his meddlesome mom decides to move in with him. Meanwhile, his absent-minded dad imposes upon Nathan’s sister, Debbie, her husband Adam and their daughter Mykayla (Eve Moon). Nathan’s best friend and news cameraman, Ray (JB Smoove), was excited to be Nathan’s wingman in the dating scene, but Carol manages to even cramp his style. Now, as Nathan and his sister settle in with their truly impossible parents, they both wonder just how long the aggravating adjustment period is going to last.

Emmy winner Greg Garcia (“Raising Hope” and “My Name is Earl”) is the executive producer of THE MILLERS for CBS Television Studios. Emmy Award winner James Burrows directed the pilot.

This looks to be the funniest of the four. I can see why CBS gave it the post TBBT slot.

I laughed at preview. I'll give it a shot. Does CBS know Will Arnett shows don't get ratings? This show will probably be his highest rated show but it'll still get cancelled. LOL I want Friends With Better Lives in this timeslot so I'm sort of rooting for The Millers to be cancelled already. :)

will arnett isn't a huge name, I don't expect this one to go far.

with 4 episodes into season 2, CBS has cancelled it. They moved it to Monday and what did they expect? Without TBBT of course the ratings would tank. Mom which to me isn't funny one bit got moved to Thursdays after TBBT and the only reason why is bc its after it.

I feel like making a comedy now a days isn't even worth it, they pretty much all do terrible in the ratings and get canceled quick bc they aren't funny!

That must have been hard for Martindale to travel from Cali where The Millers was film to NYC where the Americans is filmed.

The definition of "timeslot hit". I tried to watch but it just seemed like it belonged on TV Land. And that's not an offense to any show on TV Land, I love the Exes and Hot in Cleveland, but it was honestly just a very basic sitcom and felt very much in the vein of old school that TV Land goes for. Martindale is so talented though. She needs to a sitcom worthy of her talents [as does Laurie Metcalfe ....]. They basically just switched from one generic family comedy to another.

Couldn't have said it any better myself. Disappointed to see it go because I love MM, but it's not like she won't be on something else soon. The McCarthy's isn't much better, but sometimes you just want to watch something silly like this. I'm going to miss Hot in Cleveland, too. Those bitches just slay me.

Agreed about HiC. How sad TV Land axed it. I guess because it's gotten to syndication, and long-running shows aren't cheap, but still ... almost like a slap in the face. Hey, thanks for helping bring attention to our network but we got what we wanted out of you, so bye! I feel the worst for Betty White.
