Why do people take anything that Jeanne Cooper says seriously? This is the same woman that stood up on her book tour and announced that she smokes a joint before she goes to the studio in the morning.

Crude & crass is just the personality that she's taken on as she's gotten older.

If Eric Braeden made the same comments JC made, he'd be TRASHED all over the internet. But Cooper is ballsy and hilarious???

As the other actors' tweets show, you can't make these kinds of comments in a vacuum. Words affect and infect a work environment.

The biggest difference between Cooper & Braeden is that Jeanne's never physically assaulted her costars.

Sorry, but that has nothing to do with this issue.

It does. If Jeanne has a problem with one of her costars, which she evidently does, she takes it out in an interview without naming names. Braeden physically comes to blows with them.

So it's ok to be a bitch who's too much of a coward to name names as long as you don't get physical? These are two distinct and separate issues.

I'm not defending Braeden, who deserves a lot of the bashing that he gets. But that doesn't mean Cooper gets a pass or "Jeanne is just so real and hysterical!"

And by the way, I know EB came to blows with PB. If there were others, please fill me in. Your posts make it seem as if he's physically assaulted half the cast.

Everyone needs to calm down. She can say whatever she wants. Its called free speech, this is the United States, not Saudi Arabia. She's been on this show for almost 40 years.

How long she's been on the show has nothing to do with it and yes she's allowed to say whatever she wants. But that doesn't mean all her comments were alright. I wonder how the actress who plays Adriana felt about her comments since she does work with her.

The thing is, we don't know who Jeanne's comments were directed at. She's 84 and has been on Y&R for 40 years, so when she says "kids" and "newbies" she could be referring to virtually anyone. For all we know, that comment was directed towards Steve Burton, and not Hunter King, Jhoanna Flores, etc.

Her remarks about the younger set -- being prepared, learning lines, doing porn -- were rude, mean, disrespectful and classless. I don't see a lot of hair models on Y&R, so I don't know what the hell she's talking about.

It's called iron with y.

So anyone who disagrees with you needs to calm down???

No one said Cooper should be censored, and no one said she shouldn't speak her mind. But there's something called consequences when you open your mouth, and those of us who think she's wrong have a right to call her out on it.

Alright, has anyone actually read what she said?

TV Guide Magazine: How are you handling the invasion of newbies on Y&R?
Cooper: I tell these kids they better show up fully prepared, lines learned, or they're outta here. It's amazing how much these young ones don't know. They don't have the training we did. [Laughs] But, hey, they're good at taking off their clothes, so there's always porn.

I'll give you the porn line being crass even though it was CLEARLY a joke but nothing she said here was disrespectful.
