HOLIDAY MIRACLE: Prospect Park Back On Track To Revive AMC and OLTL

  • Member

WTF!!!!!

EXCLUSIVE: Here is a great holiday gift for soap fans: I’ve learned that Prospect Park has revived its plan to continue cancelled ABC daytime dramas All My Children and One Life To Live online. I hear the company behind USA hit Royal Pains has inked deals with SAG-AFTRA and DGA for the soaps’ production, eyed to begin in the first quarter of 2013.

I'm very glad that Matthew and Destiny will still be on the scene, but I will miss EA who I thought was great, and even SE for nostalgia's sake. That #GH hashtag at the end of Nelson's Tweet that Chris posted made me think this Billy character was for GH. But that would be wonderful if he is in fact Billy Douglas under the pens of SBH and TR. I think a lot of fans who have hoped for a quality, laissez faire story about a gay character or characters will be pleased.

It's Joey IMO. The "conman" part comes from Nelson Branco, not the casting call, so I have no reason to believe it just yet.

Eddie was never going to come back to New York so soon, IMO. He's taking his shot in California.

Will the exit of the OLTL characters hurt the ratings of GH

I'm thinking if they don't do the transition smoothly and correctly it can hurt both OLTL (online) and GH IMO. People of the "old" OLTL have become invested in GH and its characters, and if stripping them off the canvas is sloppy altogether then I can see it causing a lot of fans turning off the TV (and computer) altogether. I hope the transition is smooth and PP promotes/informs the viewers that aren't privvy/"onliners" of what is why its happening. I just hate what is going to happen story wise because Ron might've had a long story projection and now they have to go back to the drawing board. Gotta suck at this moment.

I do feel that both PP & ABC will figure out a way OLTL & GH can share these characters. I think Todd John & Starr will go over to OLTL for the relaunch, spend a few weeks/months there & then go back to GH. Then visit OLTL when story calls for it.

Frank did say recently GH had a back plan in case they had to lose Todd Starr & John. Im not worried. So many talented roles on GH now to write for.

I don't think that's something one has to worry about with Ron.

Ron actually does play the long game with a lot of stories. Both at GH and OLTL. He just tends to get distracted by shiny new objects and take a lot of cul-de-sacs along the way.

Okay, I guess I should not post in here some of the things I've been saying the whole time as they are now being reported elsewhere report style.

Wait? What?

That I get and I wish him the best. I'll just miss his Matthew, is all. He was good at playing a little prick, best thing that ever happened to his character who was often compared to a kid doing a voiceover in a Charlie Brown special.

Another thing that concerns me is PP doesn't appear to have a legit, official press department. Once again, all the 'casting announcements' are either leaks to websites or trades or coming from the hopeful actors themselves.

They do have a legit press department. I won't comment on how fast they respond, however.

Wait? What?

Such as?

Well at least ABC's responding to this PP news...developing

Hopefully its good news that PP & ABC are working together to the betterment of these shows

Starr and John ain't sh-t and have had nothing to do with GH's rise in the ratings IMO. I like Todd on here, but his character is needed on OLTL.
