Frankly, allmc, I find that to be a pitiful excuse. I, too, suffer from depression and anxiety. I, too, am on a daily, doctor-prescribed regimen of antidepressants. The difference, though, is that I don't take anything written on these boards seriously; and when I know I'm in a mood where I'm liable to be belligerent and defensive toward others, I stay away.

Personally I truly believe its gonna happen. They have all theunions and will get writers. They have EP's studio space and actors and now that all the unions are good, more will sign on. This is a great thing

It's okay. Believe it or not, I understand completely what you must be feeling right now. I am just tired of certain individuals accusing others like myself of killing this genre with our perceived negativity. It isn't that we're negative. We just know and remember when these shows didn't settle for mediocrity simply in order to stay alive and we want those days to return.

So excited they finalized the deal with WGA! This is happening, folks, and I am going to support it 100%. I don't know why people think there needs to be a huge long lead time before filming. Yes, the shows are going online, it's a new format, the cast will be different -- but these are still All My Children and One Life to Life. They are not starting shows from scratch. When a new head writer has taken over in the past, it has been about a month and a half till their stuff starts filming and about 3-4 months till their stuff hits the air.

I have to admit this is still a little hard to believe. I know GL was cancelled before but that was 70 years ago plus a different medium. But in 2013 and for the shows to be gone OVER A YEAR seems crazy. I still feel sorry for the GL fans though. I would hate to be the housewife who watched it form the first episode to the last episode.

Pretty much. She'll turn 96 next week. I don't know whether she followed GUIDING LIGHT from the very beginning, but I do recall her talking about when the show still was on radio. So, you see, P&G, you didn't just cancel a soap opera. You cancelled something that, for families such as mine, was equivalent to a family heirloom, passed from one generation to the next. (I really wanted to write for that damn show, too, not just because I thought it'd be a great gig, but because I felt it important to contribute something to a show that had contributed so much to our family. Damn. Just...damn.)
