There's a reason why SK's AJ is thought of a lot more fondly than BW's AJ and the 1995 vs. 1997 Thanksgiving episodes illustrate that perfectly. No disrespect to BW (who I feel sorry for having to act out showkiller Guza's shitty material while being treated shoddily by bootleg Janet Wood and Frons), but he was a prime example of how a miscast can ruin the dynamic of a character - a character that I am thrilled to see (seemingly) get his footing back under the current regime.

(From what I hear, Y&R treated SK shoddily as well.)

Funny how Keesha is considered "boring" - much like her cousin Maya, along with Lainey, before her were considered "boring".

I guess that's why they were written off/disappeared while Mammy Epiphany remains, huh...

I liked Maya and Lainey, when they bothered to write for them at least.

Maya sucked, but Lainey was a goddess. I wish Lainey and Kelly got the airtime that these new doctors and nurses are getting.

Ah, that 1997 episode was by Icabuzio and Whitesell. Guza showed up a week or two after that though, I believe.

Sucks that she was thrown under the bus for bootleg Emily in the same way that it sucks that Maya was thrown under the bus for the non-factor that was Ethina and that Keesha was thrown under the bus for the Slagbeast.

Then again, this is par for the course for GH, who would soon as cancel itself than have a non-stereotypical Black female character thrive on the frontburner.

I am watching the 1997 episode. I think Sarah Brown looks like Jacki Zeman.

I know Marissa is Hispanic in real life, but her Gia was the best and most successful attempt GH made at a main black female character. They never tried after she left.

I'm not much for this episode. Too much Carly/Sonny/Jax and too little of the Q's.
