I hope they get Meg Bennett in front of the camera again. I'd love to see more of Julia and her family since leaving Genoa City, and it would bring in some fresh blood while still having links to the past. And she could be a confidant to Victor, someone who would talk some sense to him. Just drop the whole weird thing from 2002 where she was gaga for him.

I always like Julia as well. I liked her and Victor.

Meg would be more of a benefit to the writing team.

Though, she did write for and act on the show for a period of time in the late 80's. Bill just didn't let her write episodes she appeared in.

Ideally they could have her as both - perhaps not on all that much, but as a Douglas figure, which Victor needs.

Are we talking about a peck here and there, commercial break and then lying in bed with afterglow? I wasn't watching when RJ and Vange were together, but I remember he and BN lying in bed afterwards. There was no love scene at all.

I remember the Barbara Niven scene differently, and I wish I didn't. But yes, both women had love scenes, as did TDS and FL. The REG one was too brief, but it was not just afterglow.

At this point, I think Lauren needs to go too. It would be easy, Bregman is only recurring.

But, come on, I have no interest in the stories and characters anymore. I'll just tune in from time to time to see what Jill and Griffith are doing, with no real investment.

This show will never recover from Maria and Latham's previous mismanagement.

Bill Bell always knew how to have heart in his writing. I think that got lost a little in the 90s but the story with Victor's mother was very touching. Today she'd probably be a money grubbing bitch who is beaten to death.

Isn't Meg Bennett Mrs. Bob Guza?

I can't take Meg Bennett seriously as anything since her role as the evil dance lady in that horrific summer storyline with Jason and Sam on GH.

I remember a little of that - wasn't she wearing short skirts, or something. Still, it can't be worse than chipmunk heads.

I get the impression that with SONY basically assuming control of the show and installing someone who was described on here (I think) as the anti-Bill Bell as EP that perhaps that style may be something they try to avoid. It was done before with Lynn Marie Latham, perhaps they are giving the new team license to turn the show upside down.

Yeah, we all know how successful Sony has been in managing its soaps. The worst thing they could do is turn Y&R "upside down." They'd do well to bring in SSM and other old Bell writers to stabilize what JFP will try to do to this show. She's a disaster wherever she lands. She'll be no less on Y&R.

Very true....JFP is poison but Y&R is a total disaster. JFP has six months to turn it around and I dont see it lasting the 2 years

Y&R has already been turned "upside down" by Maria (and the Bell's) incompetent management. Whatever JFP and company will supposedly do, is just added value at this point.

I don't think the show in its current form is salvageable, so I accept that we'll never see the Y&R of old again.

Furthermore, I don't think anyone can claim that the current Y&R resembles the same show Bill Bell once wrote. Hell, it doesn't resemble the one Jack Smith once wrote.
