I saw these kids perform on SNL this past weekend and Im hooked. Anyone heard of them before? Any listeners? I know Im too old to be into them but they can really sing and they're adorable.

They finished in 3rd place during the 2010 season of UK X-Factor. They were artificially assembled to be a group on the show.

Strangely, their album has gone to #1 in the US and Australia, but has only peaked at #2 in their native UK and Ireland.

Their fans are some of the most annoying and insane I've seen on some forums, but I guess that's tween girls for you...

I think they're adorable. During X Factor I hated them since they didn't sing well and mostly let the backing vocalists drown their voices out. It was very contrived, but I did enjoy Zayn who was pretty adorable. I remember he had a big breakdown during the dance section of boot camp and threatened to quit since he can't dance. I only started to like them when they released their cd in the Uk, which is pretty good. Gotta Be You is just flawless to be and cemented my status as a One Direction fan.

I plan on going to their concert in Dallas at the end of June.

Two of my nieces adore them, but I had no idea who they were.

I can't cast stones...I LOVED the Backstreet Boys and I was (and am) waaay past the median age for their fanbase.

OMG they're freaking psycho's and I mean that literally. 1D is getting a show on Nickelodeon and apparantly their boys are too good for a "kids network" and they don't want the fanbase overrun by kids LMFAO

that is seriously some of the things they've said. Never mind the fact that their fanbase is tween girls, which are not much of a step up from kids

I don't even consider them fans, cause most fans want their fav performers to succeed, most 1D fans don't

I had to look him up as I dont know their names but Id agree. He is the best looking of them all, although the one in the purple pants (in the post I put above) is kinda cute as well

Kinda reminds me of the music I grew up with in the late 90s. The boy band craze, teen pop, etc. Like Hanson, BSB, and N' Sync. Brings me back to a more carefree time for myself. Before 9/11 and high school.

Unlike the manufactured boybands of the past, it's pretty hilarious how this one can't dance and make fun of themselves for not being able to do so.

I didnt even know they were coming out with a new album till this week. Their first album is on heavy rotation in my iPhone. Zayn is definetly the cutest, followed by Liam and Harry in an odd way.

My job plays One Thing, I Wish, What Makes You Beautiful, and I Want constantly, and I guess I sorta became a fan. I'm still an extremely pressed BTR fan who is jealous of 1D's success, but I can admit that I like 1D as well.
