GH: Character recast

Summer is rolling around and you know what that means for soaps, right? Beefing up those storylines of the younger set in order to attract a younger audience while school is out. Does that mean GENERAL HOSPITAL's Sonny will be welcoming back one (if not both) of his kids who are miles from Port Charles and out of the mob firing zone? Could be. An insider tells Soaps In Depth that the possibility of Kristina heading home from Yale for the summer break has come up in conversation with the powers that be. Good news for Kristina fans, but possibly not good news for Lexi Ainsworth fans. Although she was pre-nominated for a Daytime Emmy for her performance as Kristina, Ainsworth's returning in the role is not a given. In fact, the insider tells us that even though it was the previous regime's decision that Kristina be "matured" and there are new captains now steering the GH ship, their vision of where to take the character may be on the same course. So, Kristina's return to GH is likely. Ainsworth's return, however, is still up in the air.

If they are bringing the character back a recast and a more mature version of the role would be best. We're already filling the screaming brat quota with Starr picking up where Kristina left off.

I thought "Cartini" consistently failed with casting younger roles on OLTL. I never thought all that much of the actors who played Sonny's kids in the first place, so this doesn't seem like a great mix. I guess at least we will have even more airtime for Sonny. GH is full of change!

yeah pretty much. Also I really hope they do bring Morgan on and make him gay. That NEEDS to happen before GH goes off the air

I'd rather Morgan come back with some pregnant girl as making Sonny and Carly grandparents would make their heads explode. For a gay character they can bring back Lucas. I'm tired of watching these coming out stories on soaps, they need to move on and just start writing gay characters outside of the usually box.

I doubt Morgan being gay would be about him, as Carly would weep and yell, and then go around telling everyone how proud she is, and Sonny would blame everyone, and mumble his disapproval, and then accept Morgan.

At this point, I'd rather have Morgan decide to undergo gender reassignment surgery.

Yeah it would be a horribly written story and random as hell. I'd just have him come home with a baby because Sonny and Carly would not be able to handle being grandparents. They might have heartattacks.

I have no interest in a gay Lucas or having a random gay in town. I do have interest in watching the ramifications of Sonny dealing with having a gay son. Id love it if it werent a typcial coming out story with the kid confused and ashamed to come to grips with his sexuality. Id love it if Morgan has a bf while away at boarding school and has already accepting who he is, without tha cliched struggle

I would have been interested in this 5-10 years ago, but I think his reaction now would be the same as his reaction to everything - bored and confused.

You said you have no interest in having a random gay in town but Morgan would be a random gay. You just want him to be gay so we'll hear Sonny and Carly compl.ain

Yes he would be randomly gay. What's his motivation for being gay? To have Carly and SOnny be upset for 5 minutes? Why does he have to be gay? Molly's the misfit, why not have her become a lesbian?
