R.I.P GH Alum, Dimitra Arliss who played Helena Cassadine in 1996. Dimirta died of a stroke on January 26, 2012. She was 79 years of age.

No remember in July 96 when Nikolas first showed up, Luke went to Greece on & saw Helena hooked up to machines & tubes

I wish we'd been able to see her as a stronger Helena, although I'm very happy Constance Towers got the role.

It's interesting how little the character of Stefan matched what she described. SN's charisma aside, Stefan was basically written as a stupid loser.

They've gone in some interesting directions in the casting of Helena. I remember reading about Dimitra and Constance both in the SOD comings/goings and being surprised. They went very ethnic with Dimitra, and I was struggling to picture Clarissa/Audrey as Helena, but damn if she didn't pull it off masterfully.
