Members Cheap21
Anyone watch this? I discovered it a few months ago and love it. Ashley is such a bitch but I cant help but enjoy her. The son is such a weasel, but he is a necessary part of the puzzle. I love the family dynamics. The people that show up though are straight up ghetto. Im embarassed by some of teh stuff I see Check out Bruce Lee's sister http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9GDfOXCuCWU And these 2 gems at ~4:50 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JIwHS9LcJ5E&feature=related "Look bitch, I gotta get my ugly feet done and my muthaf--ng hands done for tamarroooo..." Members Shawn
I discovered this show by accident when channel surfing and I really liked it. I got addicted to both this show and to Full Throttle Saloon.
Members SFK
My dad and I love this show! We love to sit and watch the mini-marathons. A few weeks ago I caught the first episode for the first time and it was amazing to see how "real" it felt and how obviously OTT things have gotten. Ashley really is an annoying bitch and Cheap calling Seth a weasel is spot on. Lord, please grant me the gift of an opportunity to clap in somebody face and ask, "How you like dem muddafukkin apples??" "I won't my damn diamond ring, datz a girl's best friend, da only damn diamond a bitch got!"

Members Money
I'm hooked on this show and the funny thing is I caught it only by accident while flipping through on-demand. I have a love hate relationship with the show becuase the situations are so obviously fake and stereotypical against black people living in the hood but it's so hilarious it's quite funny. I feel ashamed for loving the show but damn, it's just that good. I don't believe for one second the feud between Seth and Ashley but I love the entire dynamic. Can't stand Ashley and Les is awesome. Old dude doesn't back down for anyone and when some young punk tried to come at him with dukes ablaze he said "try me motherfucka" all the way out the parking lot. Love him! Members SFK
LOL, love that! Yeah, the dad is my favorite and I liked when he was telling the guy with the facial hair that his kids are always going to come first in that business because they are his kids, point blank. I like how he didn't try to sugarcoat the nepotism. It comes on tonight!
Members DRW50
I just started watching this. I enjoyed it more than some of the History Channel pawn shows. I know it's beneath us but I have to admit I love all the drama and the fighting. My jaw dropped when I saw that woman who was thrown out, pissed in the parking lot, and then started flashing her breasts and vag to cars! And this woman signed a release, since we could see her face. What a proud moment! The son is kind of hot, bad attempts to hide hair loss aside. I'm glad they still include a few "real" moments, that aren't overly trashy, like that sad man who had to sell his baseball cards because of diabetes tests. The show has some surprisingly complex moments, like the taxidermy guy who seemed like harmless comic relief and then started making threats and was thrown out. The daughter is so rude to some of the customers - there was some woman she kept baiting and then finally the woman went off and had to be taken away. Members Money
I saw the latest episode on demand where Seth failed in proving he could take over the reigns without Les' help. Les is so gansta I just love the guy. When Seth couldn't produce cash and the customer was ready to walk, Les causually strolled up, called him back and produced a clip of Benajamins. I was rollin'! He's so much fun. But this show really is so unbelievably fake. There's no way Seth or any of the mangaers will forget to provide the store with cash espeically with a holiday looming. And the feud between Seth and Ashley continues to look so staged but you gotta take the show for what it is - pure entertainment.
Members DRW50
I wish they focused more on the customers and less on the fake drama. I just find Alex unbearable to watch and the only time I enjoy her is when the customers are raging at her. Seth is kind of stupid but has a good heart. I'm mostly interested in why he looks superhot in one shot and like Deliverance in the next. I don't know how many pawn threads the board needs, so can someone here tell me if Pawn Queens is ever going to come back for another season? Members DRW50
This interview is from November but I thought it was a good read. http://www.channelguidemagblog.com/index.php/2011/11/22/hardcore-pawn-les-gold/ I get way too into this show, especially since who knows how much is staged, but it has the type of complex family dynamics soaps used to have. Members Money
So I caught the season priemere - at least I assume it was - and Richie is fired and begging for his job back. Am I to assume that Les fired Richie (his best employee) because suddenly he's so out of control and needs to make an example out of him? GMAB. The show should stick with the sibling rivalry. Members DRW50
The idea was that Rich was making decisions that upset Les (such as not buying an item Les would have bought). Les was upset with slacking standards among employees, and Rich was the last straw. It was all so contrived. I was actually relieved at a break from Ashley and Seth screaming, because that's played out, but it was silly. I finally saw a few of the early episodes, and I saw the mother. I never knew she was on the show. I wonder if she didn't care for it. I thought she came across badly (rude to Seth, nouveau-riche, and arrogant). Members SFK
I was watching one of the mini-marathons the other night but flipped and forgot to turn back. I really wish I would have caught the mother. Oh well, the way that show reruns, I'm sure I will soon enough. The show was actually quite "authentic" when it first started and it gets more and more OTT. As I've said before, I'm actually impressed by how well Les and Ashley are able to act convincingly in those staged situations. Seth's acting is less convincing. The promos where they're staged screaming in each other's faces really don't help the illusion.
Members DRW50
I think Seth's gotten better over time. I just wish they didn't have to do it so often. I am glad they are branching out by inventing people to bring in for contrived fights (like the two episodes where Ashley fought with an employee, Tressa). The show did feel more authentic early on, aside from the gun episode (OMG we have to suddenly think of security...OMG that crazy gun store owner kicked us out!). The best early episode is when they went back to the old store where Les had been a part of an armed robbery. I also noticed that Ashley wore bright colors early on.
