Guys, I don't know if anyone is keeping track of airdates/preemptions, but I discovered an April preemption occurred on April 27, 1972.  I've edited the March-April post to reflect that.

The preemption of April 27th shifted episodes forward by a day.  I had initially posted the last episode in April in my previous summaries.  The last episode of April was shifted ahead and is now correct in having aired in May.

May-June 1972:

Monday, May 1, 1972: Jane tells Tom about her ultimatum to Howie; Tom asks Jane to go to Audrey’s hearing with him, but she begs off.  Jessie tells Steve about the annuity Phil bought; Jessie and Steve agree they share a special bond.  Howie, charming and self-deprecating, apologizes to Jane for his behavior.  Audrey is low and Steve tries to cheer her; the D.A. makes his rebuttal to Lee’s final argument; afterwards, he is summoned to an urgent call from Lt. Adams in Boston.

Tuesday, May 2: Brooke confides in Sharon that Howie is a lot of fun, but she can’t count on him; Jane and Howie discuss what each wants out of life; Jane is surprised when Howie hints that what Brooke wants is commitment, too.  Lt. Adams gets the D.A. to agree to ask the judge for a delay in his decision; the lieutenant has a “hunch” about Audrey’s baby.

Wednesday, May 3: Lee calls to tell Steve that the judge wants to see him; while Steve waits, the D.A. persuades the judge to delay his decision.  Mrs. Dawson bawls Howie out.

Thursday, May 4: Diana tells Peter about Phil’s annuity for the baby; Peter reacts angrily; Jessie gets a call from an insurance agent about the annuity and must embarrassingly describe the situation; Phil finds her broken, and tries to console her.

Friday, May 5: Steve learns from Lee that the decision in Audrey’s case has been postponed pending new evidence.  Peter angrily relates to Jessie that Phil purchased the annuity.  Audrey tells Lucille that she is Stevie’s mother; Lucille thinks Audrey has finally lost her mind.

Monday, May 8: Lucille tells Jessie she’s afraid Audrey is cracking up; she begs Jessie not to let Steve know that Audrey is claiming Stevie is her child.  Peter apologizes to Jessie for unloading on her; Jessie defends Phil.  Lee asks Audrey if she knows what the new evidence might be; Lt. Adams reports to the D.A. and the D.A. realizes that Stevie is actually Audrey’s child.

Tuesday, May 9: Lucille tells Steve of Audrey’s “hallucinations”; he now understands her obsession with the baby.  Peter tells Jessie he cannot take any more and will assign Phil certain limited visiting hours.  The D.A. convinces the judge that Audrey’s case should be reopened to hear the new evidence.

Wednesday, May 10: Peter tells Diana his plan for restricting Phil’s visiting hours; Diana is concerned.  Lee tells Audrey the judge has reopened the case; Audrey is frightened of testifying.

Thursday, May 11: Sharon complains to Jane that Henry is giving her the silent treatment.  Jane admits to Mrs. Dawson that she may be pregnant; Brooke resists Howie advances, but weakens.  Steve and Lee meet with Audrey; Steve promises she will never lose him.

Friday, May 12: Jessie and Diana discuss the problem of Phil visiting Tracy unexpectedly; Phil’s good mood changes to resent after Jessie tells him Peter might mind if he visits the baby today; Peter tells Phil about his visiting hours plan; Phil is furious.

Monday, May 15: Jane admits to Sharon she is scared because she might be pregnant; Sharon and Howie lightly discuss women’s lib.  Lee calls Mary and learns that her mother is still quite ill.  The D.A. introduces the new evidence – the birth certificate of little Stevie – showing Audrey Hardy as the mother and the father as unnamed.

Tuesday, May 16:  Jane tries to console Tom who is feeling bitter and humiliated at Audrey’s naming the baby for Steve; Jane learns she is indeed pregnant..  Steve wonders why the D.A. reopened the case just to reveal the baby’s name.

Wednesday, May 17: Tom is irate that Audrey named his son after Steve; Steve visits Audrey in jail; she admits to him that she did name her baby after him;  Audrey admits on the witness stand that she registered as Audrey Hardy in Massachusetts General Hospital on January 15, 1971 and that she and her baby were released from the hospital on January 20; she admits that she told several people that the baby named Steven Hardy, died; she refuses to answer when asked if the child is still alive.

Thursday, May 18: Phil angrily tells Jessie about Peter’s visiting hours restrictions.  Audrey tells Lee that Stevie Nelson is really her son and begs for time to tell Steve herself before he hears it in open court.

Friday, May 19: Jane tells an overjoyed Mrs. Dawson that she is pregnant; she makes her promise she won’t mention it to Howie. Lee calls Steve to tell him Audrey has agreed to testify, but she wants to talk privately with Steve first; the D.A. convinces Lt. Adams that it is better to have Audrey on the stand, even though Adams could give the same facts; Audrey confesses to Steve that Stevie is really her baby and why she kept him a secret.

Monday, May 22: Jane tells Steve she is pregnant; Howie and Jane talk and he insists that he doesn’t want children; she tells him that she can’t be married to him under his conditions.  Audrey admits on the stand that Steven Hardy and Stevie Nelson are one and the same child; Lee moves to dismiss the kidnapping charge, and the D.A. agrees, saying that he has new evidence to prove Audrey is guilty of murder.

Tuesday, May 23: Tom remembers his rape of Audrey; Jane and Tom, both miserable, try to find a little comfort in each other; Tom tells Jane he will claim his son.  The D.A. explains to Adams his theory that Audrey murdered Mrs. Nelson because she was blackmailing Audrey.   Lee persuades Tom not to lay claim to the child until the trial is over and Audrey’s fate is determined;  Lee tries in vain to probe Audrey’s memory for any evidence the D.A. may have found.

Wednesday, May 24: Phil angrily tells Diana he sympathizes with Tom, identifies because they both were deprived of their sons; Jessie admits to Peter that she thinks there is nothing left of her marriage to Phil.  The D.A. probes Audrey’s relationship with Mrs. Nelson, establishing that Mrs. Nelson came to know who Stevie’s real father was and that she disapproved of the lies about the child’s death and paternity.

Thursday, May 25: It’s Audrey’s birthday and Lucille is miserable.  Tom expresses bitterness to Steve at Audrey’s having deceived him; Steve visits Audrey.

Friday, May 26: Phil notices how much both Diana and Jessie seem to be attached to Peter.  Lee tells Steve that the D.A. has established that Audrey had the opportunity and ability to kill Mrs. Nelson, he is now trying to establish the motive.

Monday, May 29: Sharon grouses to Henry about having to work on Memorial Day.  Lee reads a letter from Mary, he calls her and they have a happy conversation.  Jane tells Tom that Howie has moved out of the house.

Tuesday, May 30: Phil asks Jessie if she loves Peter; she answers that she did until she discovered that Phil was still alive and that her marriage to Phil seemed more important; Phil avoids answering directly when Jessie asks if he is still in love with Diana.  Jane tells Tom she is pregnant, and Tom proposes.

Wednesday, May 31: Brooke tries to tell Jane she isn’t seeing Howie anymore.  Lee explains to Steve that the D.A. is making a powerful motive out of Audrey’s fears; Tom tells Audrey he wants to get their child out of the children’s home, and she realizes he thinks she will be convicted; the D.A., in getting Audrey to admit on the stand that she was afraid Mrs. Nelson might expose her secret, establishes her motive for the murder.

Thursday, June 1: Peter tells Jessie he received a job offer in Chicago and admits the best part of leaving would be getting rid of Phil; Diana reacts uncertainly.  The D.A. offers Lee a compromise – if Audrey confesses, the first-degree murder charge will be reduced; Lee refuses the deal, and under cross-examination, Audrey denies murdering Mrs. Nelson.

Friday, June 2: Mrs. Dawson urges Jane to tell Howie she is pregnant; Jane tells her she might marry Tom.  Diana tells Phil that she and Peter may move to Chicago; Phil tells Jessie he is thinking about moving to Chicago.

Monday, June 5: Steve visits Audrey, who has just about given up; the D.A. and Lee make their final statements, with the D.A. listing her lies and submits that Audrey had opportunity, means and motive to murder Mrs. Nelson; Lee’s defense rests on the fact that there is no evidence that Audrey actually shot the gun.

Tuesday, June 6: Brooke guesses that Jane is pregnant; Howie makes a date with Jane; Tom warns Jane against reconciling with Howie; Jane remembers the night she got pregnant; Howie comes to ask for reconciliation, realizes she is pregnant and assumes it’s Tom Baldwin’s baby; he bolts, not learning the truth.

Wednesday, June 7: Jessie is sure that Phil has forgotten their wedding anniversary; Peter gently reminds Phil; both Phil and Diana resent the reminder.  Peter tells Diana he loves her; Jessie tells Phil she has had a dubious pap smear and must go into the hospital for a D&C.

Thursday, June 8: Jane tells Tom that Howie has left her for good, and Tom renews his hope for their future.  The judge reveals his decision that Audrey must stand trial.

Friday, June 9: Mary returns; she and Lee have a happy reunion.  Phil tells Diana that his concern about Jessie in no way overshadows his concern for his son; Phil helps Jessie get settled in her hospital room.

Monday, June 12: Steve is skeptical of Lee’s plan to have a detective investigate Mrs. Nelson’s background; Lee talks to the detective, Herman O’Brian.  Lee calls Mary and tells her he is going to check with the parole board about Wade’s release.  Steve visits Audrey in jail.  Jessie’s D&C revealed that she requires a hysterectomy.

Tuesday, June 13: Tom tells Jane he is going to set up a household for himself and his son.  Steve tells Jessie he must abandon his plans to marry Audrey because he can’t accept that Audrey deceived Tom about his child.  Peter tells Diana about Phil’s possible reaction to Jessie’s hysterectomy.  Jessie breaks down in Peter’s arms.

Wednesday, June 14: Brooke resists Howie when he playfully stops the elevator between floors.  Tom tells a very distressed Audrey that he intends to hire someone to help care for the baby.

Thursday, June 15: Jessie is in surgery; Sharon and Jane discuss Jessie’s tough luck.  Henry tells Sharon she can go to a lecture with him.  Tom tells Jane he found a two-bedroom apartment; Jane suggests that Mrs. Florence Andrews might be a good nurse for his son; Jane tells Mrs. Dawson that she is going to divorce Howie and marry Tom; despite Brooke’s urging, Howie refuses to go back to Jane.  Phil comes from Jessie’s surgery, he and Peter get into an argument over Phil’s claim on Tracy.

Friday, June 16: Lee’s detective questions Audrey and gets nowhere.  Diana and Peter decide to move to Chicago.  Sharon is jealous of a lovely patient, Heather Turner.  Howie is angry when Jane asks for a divorce.  Jessie tells Peter she believes her crisis will save her marriage, but Peter has reason to doubt when he sees Phil talking ardently to Diana.

Monday, June 19: Tom tells Steve he has notified Audrey of his intent to claim his son.  The detective reports to Lee that he has found nothing of interest about Mrs. Nelson.  Jessie proposes to Phil that they adopt a baby and is stricken with Phil’s refusal on the grounds that he would alway be comparing the child unfavorably with his own son.

Tuesday, June 20: Sharon is annoyed because Henry is determined to have Heather Turner as a patient.  Tom tells Jane that he is bringing Stevie home.  Howie tells Brooke that Jane is divorcing him.  Mrs. Andrews makes preparations for Stevie’s arrival at Tom’s new apartment.

Wednesday, June 21: Jane and Tom admire Stevie; Tom presses her to get the divorce; Howie tells his mother that they will definitely divorce.

Thursday, June 22: Henry can hardly cope with his jealous wife.  Steve tells Audrey that Tom has the baby, and Audrey finds nothing left to live for.  Mary reacts with uncertainty to Lee’s news that Wade’s parole hearing is in September; Lee finds the name Nelson in parole board release records for the previous year.

Friday, June 23: Steve tells Audrey that he is going to Norway for a conference.  Lee interviews the parole officer of an Arnold Nelson, and learns that he had a wife named “Margaret”.  Steve tries to urge Phil that adopting a baby may be good for Jessie, but Phil refuses to consider it; Jessie hears their voices and hears Phil say he knows his duty to Jessie, she turns miserably and goes back to her room.

Monday, June 26: Sharon is irked that Henry is so intense and serious about Heather; Sharon pays Heather a visit, and is irritated by her charm.  Lee fills Tom in on what’s happened thus far with Arnold Nelson; Tom grimly admits the fact that if Audrey is released from prison she will want custody of their child.  Jessie recalls Phil telling Steve he knows his obligations to her; she tells Peter she will give Phil his freedom.

Tuesday, June 27: Tom finds Jane in the coffee shop and she responds to his happy talk with tears; it’s her and Howie’s anniversary.  Audrey tells Lucille she is sure she will be in prison for life; the D.A. reports to Lee that the trial will begin July 10th.

Wednesday, June 28: Jessie finds a picture of Tracy - and Diana - in Phil’s wallet; she tells Phil she thinks that they should split.  Peter admits to Diana that he thinks things will be worse for them if Jessie and Phil split up.

Thursday, June 29: Howie tells Jane the sooner they divorce, the better.  Lee brings the D.A. the court records for Arnold Nelson’s conviction, demonstrating that Mrs. Nelson testified against him at the trial and was responsible for his 10-year prison term.

Friday, June 30: Lee tells Tom about his lead about Arnold Nelson and the fact that Mrs. Nelson voluntarily testified against him; Lee urges Tom to let Audrey have custody of Stevie when she is released.  Jessie, after some honest and painful soul-searching, suggests to Phil that it is time now for a definitive action on their marriage; almost relieved, Phil agrees to a separation.

Wednesday, August 30: Jessie tries frantically to elicit responses from the kids.  Lee asks Peter if Meg should be told of Scott’s illness; Peter suggests waiting to see if Scott recovers before consulting Dr. Dalton.

Thursday, August 31: Heather is being released, to Sharon’s delight; Heather is taken to the elevator in a wheelchair and makes elaborate “goodbyes” to Henry, Jessie, Brooke and “Mrs. Pinkham”; Sharon has forgotten to take off her name badge.  Steve tells Jessie that Walter is improving enough to be able to have the surgery; Amy doesn’t want Steve to mention anything about a biopsy to Walter; Steve reluctantly agrees, but is permitted to tell Walter he needs an operation.  Audrey and Tom argue about her wanting to go back to work; she has very valid reasons, but Tom accuses her of wanting to be near Steve.

Took a little time to put September together...

Friday, September 1, 1972: To Peter’s chagrin, Diana tells Phil that he will be away in London.  Tom suggests to Mary that Scott might do better in a hospital; Lee tells Mary he will talk with Dr. Dalton before telling Meg about Scott’s illness.  Diana and Peter say goodbye at the airport.

Monday, September 4: Carol calls Jessie to say she and Kent are off on a motorcycle outing.  Jessie is able to tell Amy that Walter’s pneumonia is improving; they are still not facing the reality of Walt’s surgery and still trying to protect each other from their fears.  Carol and Kent come in at two in the morning to find Jessie frantic.

Tuesday, September 5: Audrey barely speaks to Steve when they meet, but to Lucille she protests too much.  Diana gets a letter from Peter telling her how he misses her.  Howie comes in to report Jane is in labor, later Lucille reports it was false labor pains.  Howie worries about his wife, and Mrs. Dawson tries to reassure him.  Phil’s concern over Diana being alone is enough to make Diana nervous herself.

Wednesday, September 6: Jessie encourages Mary not to worry about the hospital gossip; Steve advises Mary that Scott should be brought in.  Steve tells Jessie that Walt’s x-rays show many tumors on his lungs; the surgery is scheduled for tomorrow.  Jessie tells Teddy about her problems with the kids.  Steve finds the Douglases putting up an optimistic front when he tells them of the surgery.  Mary insists to Lee she will stay at the Baldwin home as long as Scott needs her, gossip or no gossip.

Thursday, September 7: Walt and Amy try to mutually not convey anxiety to each other; they decide not to tell their children in California about the operation until it’s over; Amy goes with Walt to the elevator, and kisses him on the cheek.  Walt’s five hour surgery is complete, and Steve tells Amy the news isn’t good; they removed one lung and the other is inoperable; Steve is gentle, but says they must agree on what they are going to tell Walt, so their stories will match; Amy struggles toward comprehension and when it hits her, she is nauseous and cries; Steve comforts her.

Friday, September 8: Steve tells Mary his opinion that Meg should be told about Scotty.  Steve and Amy disagree that Walt should be told about his condition.  Diana suffers a dizzy spell; Peter phones from London and tells Diana that the nurse should stay with her so that she will not be subjected to Phil’s pressure over her safety.  Howie announces that Jane has given birth to a baby girl.  Steve tells Walt they removed a lung but Amy keeps answering his questions for Steve, making Walt suspicious.  Mary and Lee care for a very weak Scotty; Lee decides to call Dr. Dalton to insist that Meg be told; Dalton is opposed but finally agrees, adding that he will not be responsible.

Monday, September 11: Diana is fearful about the causes of her continued dizzy spells.  Sharon tells Steve that Walt is suspicious that the truth is being kept from him.  Howie tells everyone Jane and the baby will go home Wednesday.  Steve examines Scotty, and says the boy needs to go to the hospital; Steve and Lee agree that Audrey will be his private day nurse.

Tuesday, September 12: Jessie learns from a truant officer that the kids aren’t attending school; Jessie faces the kids with the officer’s statement; they reluctantly agree to start attending.  Scott is admitted and Audrey finds Steve in his room; Lee tells Tom he expects a call from Dr. Dalton about Meg’s reaction to the news.  Tom is jealous and hurt when he sees Audrey and Steve together.

Wednesday, September 13: Sharon is disturbed because Amy is still putting on the act and Walt is asking more questions; Steve and Sharon agree that Walt is going to find out and that it will be very bad for both Amy and Walt.  Brooke goes to see Scott, and they discuss how much they’ve missed each other.  Tom and Audrey advise Lee to call Dr. Dalton; Dalton frustrates Lee by saying he’s not prepared to make a comment or take a position.

Thursday, September 14: Diana continues to have dizzy spells; she gets a letter from Peter and refuses to talk with Phil.  Jessie tells Teddy the problem of the kids and school; he tells her he wants to see her when he’s out of the hospital, and snows her with kindness and compliments.  Diana worries about her swollen lymph glands.

Friday, September 15: Steve warns Jessie that Teddy is not to be counted on.  Steve examines Diana and tells her she needs to have her lymph fluid tested; he urges her not to conceal the problem from Peter.  Scott asks after his mother; Dalton calls Lee and tells him the shock of Scott’s illness has brought Meg back to reality and she will come home on Monday.

Monday, September 18: Lee comes to tell Scott that Meg will be home this afternoon, and tells Brooke that Meg will need to be kept from worrying, hurting her.  Howie comes to report about the baby with great enthusiasm, and Brooke finds this distasteful.  Lee meets Meg at the airport, finds her unresponsive to him but deeply concerned about Scott; she is cool when she finds Brooke with Scott, but her concern over him leaves no room for anyone else.

Tuesday, September 19: Howie apologizes to Brooke but it doesn’t make her feel any better.  Mary meets Meg who is warm, grateful, and has no suspicions.  Steve examines Walt, who persuades him to tell the truth; even finding out he has terminal cancer doesn’t keep him from wanting to protect Amy; Steve urges them to be honest.  Lee tells Mary he can’t hurt Meg; Mary understands, but it is not really goodbye.

Wednesday, September 20: Steve tells Diana that tests indicate she has early stage Hodgkin’s disease; Diana is devastated; alone, waiting for Peter’s return, Diana is full of fears for the future; her and Peter have a tender reunion and she gives him a watch, engraved “For all time.”

Thursday, September 21: Peter tells Jessie he will be glad to see the kids to help her with the problems.

Friday, September 22: Steve tells Jessie he doesn't think Teddy is on the level, and she is disturbed by their disagreement.  Walt and Amy finally tell each other the truth and resolve to make the most of the time they have left.  Teddy insists he will be able to manage his life when he leaves the hospital, but manages to maneuver Jessie into inviting him to move into an empty room in her house.

Monday, September 25: Meg tells Steve she is conscious that everyone is over-solicitous of her and it shakes her confidence.

Tuesday, September 26: Jessie tells Steve she has had an argument with the kids over cleaning the house; Teddy cons Jessie into repeating her invitation for him to live at her home.  Mary listens unhappily, concealing her feelings, while Lee, Meg and Scott plan a vacation.  Kent and Carol quarrel as they clean the living room; they both blurt to Jessie that they can’t stand living there; Jessie hopes Teddy can help.

Wednesday, September 27: Steve urges Diana to tell Peter of her Hodgkin’s disease.  Tom speaks sharply to Audrey when he sees her and Steve talking intimately.

Thursday, September 28: Jessie tells Phil that Peter is going to come over tonight to meet the kids; Phil decides to take advantage of the fact that Peter won’t be home.  Tom tries to make up with Audrey by giving her a diamond ring; she feels she can’t take the ring; disappointed, Tom tells her to do what she pleases with it.  Peter arrives to meet the kids; when they come downstairs, they are dressed to go out, thinking that Jessie merely wanted to introduce them to Peter; Peter goes home.  Diana is startled by Phil’s arrival; she tells him to get out; Peter interrupts the quarrel.

Friday, September 29: Steve tells Lee, Meg, Mary, and Scott that Scott is showing great improvement and that they can begin to think about taking him home; Meg wishes to take full care of him, but is persuaded to agree to a night nurse; Scott insists on Mary.  Steve quizzes Teddy on the novel; Teddy says it will be better when he is at Jessie’s leaving Steve dumbfounded and angry; Steve tells Jessie he is dead-set against Teddy moving in with her; she feels Teddy will be able to help her with the kids; Steve tells her she’s making a terrible mistake.

No problem!

In the summaries themselves, Judy has been mentioned sporadically, more so in the late ‘60’s ones. In the characters listed for the episodes they usually say something like “trainee” or “nurse”. I’ve seen notes next to “trainee” that say “maybe Judy?”. She hasn’t been mentioned by name in the ones I’m transcribing now.

@FrenchFanI took sometime today to look locate episodes that included Judy Clampett by name in the character listing.  I'm including the dates of the episodes here, as well as notes if she was mentioned in the text of the episode summary.

The last listing I have is in the 18 DEC 1969 episode, but that's not to say she isn't in later episodes (70-72), the character just isn't listed in the character listing of the summaries past that date (as far as I can see).

No problem! My goal is to get all of these docs onto a website, but in the meantime, I like sharing!

I know Judy was a perennial student nurse/trainee. Maybe she eventually earned her cap, I’m not really sure.  Her character seems like more of a talk-to than someone who moves story along.

I apologize for the lapse in adding more summaries, work has been a huge time suck.  I managed to get October together, hope you enjoy!

Monday, October 2, 1972: Tom notices that Audrey isn’t wearing his ring and is hurt.  Scott exults when he hears he will be going home and repeats that he wants Mady to come, to the embarrassment of Mary and Lee.  Jessie denies to Teddy that there is anything between her and Steve.  Audrey tells Tom she wants to wear the ring, but rebuffs him when he approaches her, thinking she wants to make up.

Tuesday, October 3: Lucille and Al make much of Audrey’s ring, to her embarrassment.  Steve cannot persuade Jessie not to take Teddy home.  Scott leaves the hospital; despite her own misgivings, Meg insists to Mary that she will never be jealous again, sure as she now is that her own imaginings about Lee put her in the mental hospital.

Wednesday, October 4: Steve urges Diana to enter Metropolitan Hospital for radiation treatments and chemotherapy but she demurs, preferring to stay close to Tracy; Steve reluctantly agrees not to tell Peter of her disease.  Tom reacts resentfully when he sees Audrey and Steve together on the pediatrics floor.  Diana writes in a diary she is keeping for Tracy.

Thursday, October 5: Peter and Phil threaten each other with legal measures.  Meg attempts to build bridges to Lee; they discuss the mistakes of the past; Mary reassures Lee that they will both help Meg; she watches with pain as Lee and Meg retire to their bedroom.

Friday, October 6: Steve tells Jessie that Teddy is getting out today; when she tells the kids, they’re not too hot for the idea; Steve warns an unfazed Teddy not to hurt Jessie; Teddy is able to clarify for himself that the kids’ money is tied up; the kids are amazed when Teddy arrives that he’s not a total antique.

Monday, October 9: Phil asks Jessie if she has thought more about a divorce; she is stricken, tells Phil she will start at once.  Carol pouts when she does not get Teddy’s attention.

Tuesday, October 10: Brooke tells Howie his boss, Burt Marshall, has asked her for a date; Howie does not approve.  Steve meets Audrey in pediatrics and they touch on her unhappiness with Tom; a jealous Tom quarrels with Audrey about Steve.

Wednesday, October 11: Teddy plans a surprise dinner, complete with flowers, and Jessie cannot help but respond to his charm.  Hoping for a closer relationship with Scott, Meg asks Mary not to do the personal things: schoolwork, special bedtime treat; Meg then worries she may have offended her.

Thursday, October 12: Phil tells Diana he is going to try to be a new man.  Lee gives Mary the option of bowing out; she doesn’t want to.  Peter consults Steve about Diana’s nervousness; Steve recalls how he tried to convince Diana she should get treatment and tell Peter;  Diana writes in her diary; she tells Peter that Phil is a new man; he thinks she is letting Phil move in on her.

Friday, October 13: Tom and Audrey argue when Tom assumes Audrey getting off the elevator on the wrong floor is an excuse to see Steve.  Jessie gives Steve a progress report on Teddy.  When Tom returns home, he tells Audrey the solution to their problem is to move west; Audrey will not agree, and Tom leaves the house angry.

Monday, October 16: Steve preps for a new patient, a rich woman who is tempermental and whose donations are important to the hospital.  Tom apologizes to Audrey.  Meg continues to try to assert herself as Scott’s mother; Lee assures Steve he believes she is doing well, but Steve can see signs of inner tensions.

Tuesday, October 17: Peter tells Jessie he fears for Diana’s health and she explains that Phil has asked her for a divorce.  Carol pouts in frustration at Teddy’s attitude towards Jessie.  Diana remembers Phil’s promise not to make trouble; Diana tells Peter that Phil opened a savings account for Tracy; Peter’s cynical interpretation leaves her in tears.

Wednesday, October 18: Sharon tells Mary that if she were in her shoes she would pull out of the Baldwin house before the sky falls in; Meg suggests to Lee that soon Scott will not need night nursing; Scott has a nightmare and is glad Mary is there.  Peter suggests Diana quit nursing until she feels more rested; Diana wonders why she is training to be a nurse when she knows she is going to die.

Thursday, October 19: Brooke passes Howie’s office and while they are talking, his boss comes along, delighted to see Brooke; he gives her a big routine about dating him, and she tells him maybe; when Burt leaves, Howie warns her the guy is not for her.  Tom arrives just as Steve and Audrey are enjoying time with Tommy in the hospital coffee shop; Tom tells Audrey he can’t forget the idea that Tommy was originally named for Steve.

Friday, October 20: Jessie and Steve discuss their problems; Lee brings Jessie divorce papers to sign.  Jane and Tom have their first meeting since Jane’s return.  Steve comes to dinner at Jessie’s and meets Carol and Kent.  While Jessie is out of the room, Teddy tells Steve how grateful he is to Jessie, but he does it in such a way that further antagonizes Steve.

Monday, October 23: Diana meets with Steve, tells him she is leaving, but asks him to arrange it so the others think it is temporary.  Meg compulsively fusses over making Scotty’s bed; Scotty tells her to take it easy and about his nightmare; in a controlled rage, Meg takes issue with Lee and Mary not telling her, and says she must know everything that has to do with her son.

Tuesday, October 24: Tom tells Audrey he has a late meeting and imagines she will be asleep when he gets home as usual; Audrey decides to wait up for Tom, determined to be reasonable; when he approaches her, she freezes; he tells her it is difficult to stay no more than friends.  Teddy goads Steve, who is trying to discourage him from asking Jessie out.

Wednesday, October 25: Mary confieds in Tom her fears of Meg’s stability; Phil protests Diana’s quitting nursing; Peter is puzzled by Diana’s intensity over Phil’s reaction to her quitting; Meg suffers a sprained ankle and must stay off her feet; Mary and Lee agree that Mary must stay on as Meg will need he more now than ever.

Thursday, October 26: Disturbed by Jane and Howie’s happiness, Brooke agrees to a lunch date with Burt Marshall; at lunch Burt flatters Brooke and makes passes at her while Howie, unseen by them, watches.  Carol is jealous of Teddy’s attention to Jessie; after an expensive dinner, Jessie realizes that Teddy is broke and offers to lend him money, an offer he refuses.

Friday, October 27: Sharon again advises Mary to get away from the Meg situation before it does her in.  Tom and Audrey enjoy a companionable lunch, making plans for little Tommy’s Halloween; Tom brings Audrey home some flowers, but her delight turns to pain as she realizes they are identical to the ones Steve brought her on the night she told him she was marrying Tom; Tom is gentle with her, guessing the cause of her distress and realizing that each of them shares a similar heartache.

Monday, October 30: Mary reminds Meg of Lee’s birthday, which Meg had forgotten, and they plan a surprise party; Audrey is a little startled that Steve has been invited as Mary’s date; Tom refuses to go to the party, and Steve finds Audrey crying in her parked car.  Peter asks Diana if she wouldn’t like another baby.  Diana is moved and upset, wonders to herself if having a baby is possible or desirable since she expects to die.

Tuesday, October 31: Diana writes in her diary, vowing to live as normal as possible as long as she can conceal her illness.  Howie warns Brooke to stay away from Burt, but she tells him not to bug her about it.  Tommy performs for Tom’s movie camera in his bunny Halloween costume; Tom finds a handkerchief belonging to Steve and storms out in anger.

CBS Sunday Morning profile Donna Mills which references her time on "General Hospital". Interestingly, she says she's grateful for her GH emmy but doesn't feel that was her best work. She says that was probably more of a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Wednesday, November 1, 1972: Steve again tries to warn Jessie about Teddy, but inadvertently gives her the idea of hiring Teddy as a tutor for the kids; Teddy accepts the job and his first check.  On Diana’s last day at work, Phil worries how he will see her and the baby.

Thursday, November 2: Burt calls Brooke for a date; Brooke, dressed up to go out, finds that Burt has brought fixings with him, and is prepared for a romantic evening at home.  At Lee’s birthday party, Meg is on every minute and tops everyone, especially Mary; her reprimands of Mary make everyone uncomfortable, and the party ends on a tense note.

Friday, November 3: Steve asks Mary to dinner; Lee speaks to Mary about her discomfort at the party.  Phil makes a passionate plea to Diana that her feelings must surely match his own.  Audrey and Tom, enjoying a companionable dinner, are surprised to see Steve and Mary come in, their presence spoils the evening for Tom and Audrey.

Monday, November 20: Howie speculates that Brooke is off with Burt.  Tom tells Jane that he will keep Mrs. Andrews for Thanksgiving because he and Audrey do not do well together alone; Audrey tells her troubles to Lee who is annoyed and disturbed at his brother.

Tuesday, November 21: Lee calls Jessie to tell her the divorce hearing is scheduled for January 5th; Phil tells her he is getting nowhere with Diana and the baby.  Teddy gets a threatening letter demanding $1700 and discovers a check to Jessie for $1000 in the same mail.  Diana begs Peter to put off having a family until she feels stronger.

Wednesday, November 22: Audrey and Mrs. Andrews quarrel, and Tom tries to placate Mrs. Andrews; she agrees to stay on the job for his sake…and for Tommy’s.  Teddy, at a bar, pays off a fraction of a gambling debt to a sinister big-time tough; he lies to Jessie when he gets home.

Thursday, November 23: Pre-empted.

Friday, November 24: A letter from Brooke says she will be away from work until next week; Howie tells Jane this jibes with the fact that Burt won’t be back until next week; but Brooke has given herself away with the postmark on her letter.  Phil tells Jessie that he’s really down at the idea of Diana having a family with Peter.  Mary teaches Meg needlepoint and tries to keep Meg from questioning her more about her husband; in frustration Meg jabs herself with the needle.

Monday, November 27: Howie celebrates his birthday with Jane, Mrs. Dawson and the baby, it’s the happiest one he’s ever had.  Tom and Audrey agree that their marriage can’t go on in this way; she demands that Mrs. Andrews be fired, but Tom insists this isn’t the answer to their problems and refuses.
