Recast Old Characters with Actors of Today

Is there any character from the past that you could see recast with an actor thats currently in daytime (or a recent alumni), assuming that actor existed back then? Take the actor as they are now and recast them at different points in history. Here are some of my choices

AMC:

Jesse Hubbard - Cornelius Smith Jr. when Darnell left, instead of killing the character off

Will Cortlandt - Billy Miller, right when the role was first recast

Anita Santos - Mariah Buzolin in the mid 90s

Haley Vaughan- Claire Coffee

GH:

Laura Spencer - Kimberly Matula after Genie first left in the early 80s

OLTL:

Tina Lord - Marcy Rylan. I could so see her as Tina after Andrea Evans left in 1990. She has manneurisms that remind me of a mini-Tina at times

Max Holden - John Brotherton as plastic surgery Max.

Alex Olanov - Cynthia Preston

ATWT:

Dusty Donovan - Colin Egglesfield. Replacing Brian Bloom in the late 80s

Days

Jack and Jennifer - Kimberly Matula and Scott Clifton

Lexie Carver - Shannon Kane. I can see her as an early Lexie in the 80s when she was a cop, prior to Renee Jones taking over

Sami Brady - Leven Rambin

Kristen Blake - Brianna Brown

Carrie Brady - Emily Harper

GH:

AJ Quartermaine - Jacob Young replacing Gerald Hopkins after his departure

Lucy Coe - Melissa Claire Egan

Melissa Claire Egan as Jill Foster. Watching old clips of Brenda Dickson on YT, she was so campy and over the top. I could easily see MCE being recast in the role after she left

I really like them.

I'm not sure about VI as Alan though. I think he could do it, because he's a great actor, but I'm having a little trouble imagining it.

I would go with Cady as Monica. I love me some Kelli Giddish, but of those two I think Cady would gel very well.

Tracey would be great as Lesley. Though no one could do it quite like DA.

I could see Kelli Giddish as Heather Webber, very easily.

Not really the same as recasting a role with an actor of today, but ( you guys are going to think I'm crazy but...) has anyone ever thought that if Nikki Newman was decided to be a male role right from the start on Y&R, the perfect male soap actor to play him would be Steve Burton. I know really weird but i can't help notice that Steve and MTS have a very similar look to them. which got me thinking that Steve would make a great male Nikki if the role was ever written as a male. I think it would be tons of fun to see Steve do all the things that Nikki has done on the show (of course in a more man-like way.) and he does have the acting ability to pull off a character similar to that, but just imagined seeing Steve play a stripper/alcoholic/devoted father/ a man trying to make his way into buisness. Plus he would smile more, but like Melody when the time comes to act serious we all know he could do that very well. THe only thing that is kind of hard to picture is letting him get bossed around by his wife a female version of Victor! try picturing which actress would make a good female Victor LOL...

As for going back on topic i have a few Y&R choices that would work as recasts.

Thanks for saying that! I especially feel that Sarah Brown would make the perfect Sheila, because like Kimberlin she knows how to play dark evil and dangerous oh so well! now finding the perfect actress to think of for Lauren is puzzling me. I almost feel that Rebecca Hebst would make a good Lauren Fenmore recast, but she seems a little too sweet.... I guess im thinking of the Carly/Liz rivalry on GH.

I feel that Marcy plays campiness so well and that Leanna would have been a great role for her back in the day. I could also see maybe Adrianne Frantz step in that role as well.

I actually picture somone like Molly Stanton who played Charity on Passions to being more of a Nikki Newman type.

I just saw this clip of Jill and she soooo reminds me of Sunset Beach's Annie Douglas here. I can see Sarah Buxton as a recast Jill after BD left the role in 1987
