I didn't like the second Beth (the one that remained). The first one had better chances of getting back together with Eric. To me... she was the original one. She looked exactly like her children, there was family resemblance. The second one was very matronly and tired in all the boring ways. And she looked like a distant aunt. The facial characteristics were not similar to those of her children and she just looked off in the role for me. It was impossible to believe that Eric will choose this woman when he has a dynamite of a blond bombshell woman in his house (Stephanie was SOOOOOOOOOO stunning in this period. She was sizzling.). And it's not all about looks. The actress was beautiful in her own way, but the overall vibe and the way she was written... was just... yawn to me. 

The first one was more perky and I could picture her being transformed into a socialite. As soon as they recast her... I knew we would never see Beth/Eric.

Does anyone know why Judith Baldwin left/was sacked and replaced by Nancy Burnett? Like others have said, she fit the role of Beth Logan better.

Thanks @rsclassicfanforever and the other angels for all that you’ve done. 

Does anyone have a better quality copy of episode 4604 (July 2005) — the Brooke and Stephanie slap-fest following the fake heart attack? There’s a VHS recording in the vault, but I seem to remember a better-quality version existing, from a DVD release. Unfortunately, the YouTube channel conveniently skipped over this episode.

They skipped THIS EPISODE? One of the top 5 episodes of the show? Jesus... nooo. Why did they do that. Did they skip it in the live stream?

It will hopefully appear in the coming months with the current Season 18 daily uploads. It was skipped way back when they started s 18 mid-way with Taylor's return from the dead many years ago. Hopefully not this time around in HD. Someone who has the s18 livestream might be able to confirm whether it's going to be included or not. It does seem like they skip a lot of the episodes where they were released on those compilation DVDs, maybe due to licensing rights.

I agree; it was a complete change in character. My guess is trying to "dull" up the role of Beth in comparison to Stephanie.

Thank you @BoldKara. I hadn’t realised it’s only a few months away with the current YouTube uploads. I’m happy to wait until then - hopefully they won’t skip the episode this time around.

Beth #1 being recast right before she and Eric come face to face was jarring.  We spent the first 50 episodes or so getting to know Beth and see her rapport with her kids, co worker, and even her mother in law.

Her Beth seemed content with her kids and job as caterer, but you could tell she also had a faraway look that you just knew meant that she dreamed of what life would have been like had she and Eric gotten together.   Plus, she came across as someone that you could see eventually moving into more wealthy circles based on her demeanor.   Seeing Beth always looking off into space probably helped fuel Brooke's dreams of wealth because she saw how unfulfilled her mother was. 

Once Beth was recast starting in episode 52, that whole vibe completely changed and Beth #2 seemed to almost like living the middle class life.. and that her Beth would feel ill at ease around wealth, etc.

Oh wow, they skipped Episodes #4450 and #4451 on YouTube. So we dont see the first episodes with Ashley Jones as Bridget….

Another lot of skipped episodes to look forward to when the time comes on Videoland. So annoying. They have skipped so many, especially in  season 15 where they skipped 19 episodes throughout the season.

Is it just me or is the vault down? It's like a different error message this time so it's hard to know if it's me this time.
