I've been watching B&B the last few days here for the first time in years, and I'm not feeling this new Ridge at all. Ronn Moss wasn't much of an actor but he was Ridge.

I'm not sure how far behind we are, but Steffy and Bill have just slept together and right now everyone else is slowly finding out. It's actually quite good soap, with a major reveal like this slowly finding its way around the cast. Tonight's second episode (we get two each day) ended with Ridge showing up in Bill's office.

One thing that struck me was that Brooke's livingroom seems to have shrunk in size. Last time I watched it looked much bigger. I guess it's a result of shrinking budgets?

Flashback Friday!

Thanks to a Polish user on YouTube a lot classic B&B (1989-1992) can be streamed these days. I just finished my way re-watching 1991. Not all episodes are up for viewing (and sometimes the recaps I found for the rest were not precise enough), so the following data is only 95% correct, but it still gives a pretty detailed pictured on who was front and center so many years ago.

B&B 1991: A total of 248 episodes aired

Thanks for this! I think the total number of episodes is accurate based off of my own listings for 1991 Y&R ( based on my calculations they had 251 episodes that year)

it’s interesting how low some of these numbers are (particularly for people I thought had more front burner story this year like Jake, Margo, Thorne, Felicia etc...) but the overall balance is better then anything on the B&B the last 6-7 years.

was Donna given a non-exit? I’m curious to see Mary Sheldon, I’m guessing she wasn’t really a temp and they just wrote Donna out.

The Donna bit was so weird. She was out of story for ages and just a waste bin for any man Macy was interested infor the most part of 1989-1991. Cut to March 1991: the show suddenly begins to rekindle Bill and Donna. After three episodes, suddenly Carrie Mtchum is gone (due to contract dispute? illness?) and replaced by Marie Sheldon and wraps it up within another three episodes. Storm consoles Donna and applauds her for turning Bill down - and they are never to be seen until Ridge & Brooke's beach wedding in 1994. A couple of weeks/months (?) later, Brooke mentions that both Donna and Storm have moved to San Francisco.

As for the balance: like 1990, the year was EXTREMLY Ridge-centric. Yet, there many B-stories and it was one of the busiest years ever for Sally. There even was an episode with feautured just her, Clarke and Julie. And Darlene Conley knocked it all out fo the park. All of it: campy fashionista, vengeful wife and frightened mother of age. 1991 was her year, as well as of Susan Flannery's (the homeless story on Skid Row).

FYI - some more facts about the contract cast of 1991

Coming

Michelle Davison (Ruthanne) – January

Rod Loomis (Adam) - March

Peter Brown (Blake) - March

Joanna Johnson (Faith/Karen) – December

Dorothy Lyman (Bonnie) – December

Going

Tippi Hedren (Helen) – February

John Brandon (Ben) – February

Brian Patrick Clarke (Storm) – March

Carrie Mitchum (Donna) – March

Rod Loomis (Adam) – July

Michelle Davidon (Ruthanne) – August

Jane A. Rogers (Julie) – November

Have not been here in forever since I have not watched a current soap consistently in the past 2 years, but my friend gave me some B&B episodes, Days episodes and a few YR episodes as well that I thought I'd share. The Days and possibly the YR episodes may have already been uploaded but idk about the B&B. Least not in total English. Also not sure if the dates are all accurate.

Theres not a ton, but they'll probably take me awhile to convert and upload, but here are the first few episodes from october of 1992

Yes That would be great, the only December 1992 I have of Y&R are from Dec 22,23,24,28,29,30, so I'm not sure if they are the same as yours?
It's a shame that James the guy from Indiana, (Where the B&B came from)  hasn't updated any of his collection in over a year...I'm still wondering what happen?

date: Monday, May 5 | Christopher Dunn, Lynn Martin | Anthony Pascarelli Dana is certifiably insane. Beyond insane. And I oop... Anita is about to pop off on her, and this is where it gets good. Oh God, Deadbeat, stop while you're ahead. You are not one to talk with how you treat your husband and children. Settle. Go on, Nicole. Tell Theodore exactly who his busted ass is. Not Dana comparing herself to those she's compared herself to. Damn, Katherine is really putting Eva beyond the bottom of her shoe with her insults. Savage, but deserved, because she called out Eva the first day. She knew, and not a single person believed her. Oh, Theodore, how dare you try and play yourself on the same level as Nicole; it's completely different. Mama Anita is up to bat, and she's going to come out swinging. And she delivered it to Dana in the way only the matriarch of a family could. Nicole kicking Theodore out "day by day" is everything. She's not taking this anything but day by day. W H E W... Katherine telling Eva she's dead to her. Wow. That's got to cut. Dana locking Eva's ass out and drinking her wine in her robe is the ultimate villain. True villain. Notes: Anyone trying to sell that Brandon Claybon (Martin) has improved in his acting must be lying, because this is laughable and bad. Next up for recast: the role of Martin Richardson. Omg. It's so damn bad. This man cannot act. At all. He's got to GO! Daphnée Duplaix (Nicole) is showing how much she's been missed from daytime. Ambyr Michelle (Eva) once again gave an award-winning performance in her scenes. Outstanding, standout star! The montage with Tamara Tunie (Anita) singing "Amazing Grace" was a brilliant touch to wrap up the episode, and to allow us the ability of moving on on Thursday.
    • That ending was beautifully done. Anita took us to church.
    • Leslie is TRASH, locking poor Eva out
    • That !@#$%^&*]ed up for Leslie to lock Eva out
    • Haha - my bad

Beautiful rendition of Amazing Grace by Anita. Effective way to pull on our emotions, especially watching Nicole and Kat cuddle together on the couch.
    • The end of this montage would have been a good time to have an explosion inadvertently kill off Ashley and Derek in classic Guza style.

    • No it was the preview for this week lol
    • Wait, did I miss something - didn't last Friday's episode end with Eva arriving at a man's doorstep? But here she was with Kat the full time. Oh wait, was that the previews I'm thinking of? Haha, oops.  I can't believe Leslie locked Eva out of the damn house!
    • I'd crawl into a hole and die if Anita ever came for me the way she is Leslie lol
