January 8, 201213 yr Member I love that picture of Viki and Clint in the December 9 issue. OLTL seems so good back then too. I really wish I could have seen it.
January 8, 201213 yr Member They had such incredible characters back then. In a way it's almost a challenge because how can you write a story for these people? I think that era had such fascinating and complex people. I can kind of see why it seemed like "normal" characters like Viki, or Pat, may have blended into the background.
January 8, 201213 yr Member I thought this one was from late 1980 but actually it's from January 29, 1980. So just put this back towards the start of 1980.

January 8, 201213 yr Member Is it me or do most of Pat's stories from around the time the Tony/Pat/Paul stuff ended sound like huge pieces of [!@#$%^&*]? Paul injured and not wanting her to know he's still alive, the Adam stuff which seemed to go nowhere, the evil twin or cousin or whatever, a stalker. Kind of odd that they were pushing her as one of their main heroines in these years and they were so clueless about what to do with her.
January 8, 201213 yr Member I do find Pat's stories to be out of place. I wouldn't expect Pat to be stalked by her TV producer and then held hostage by her identical twin sister in less than 12 months in 1979. I would expect something like that on today's soaps, but not then. Regardless, I would still love to see Pat's stories even if they do sound bad.
January 9, 201213 yr Member Looking back, I think the show could have paired Pat and Larry after Karen's exit. Larry was just getting over Karen and Pat was mourning Tony's death. Larry never even found love again, except for Laurel and Brenda and Pat left, I am not sure why, a few months later in 1983.
January 9, 201213 yr Member I'd like to see them too, mostly because I enjoy watching Jacquie Courtney...it seems like they found a better place for her for a while with Bo. I wonder if she felt insulted when they moved him on to Delilah.
January 9, 201213 yr Member I would love to see the scenes of Carla telling Ed she still loves him and thinks they still belong together. They sound wonderful. I also didn't realize how close Karen and Ed were. I like the idea of them.
