I liked that Bianca was a goody goody..and didn't like the things Erica did.  That was the perfect karma for Erica..imho

I'm watching a January 1987 episode and I see Denny Albee at some goodbye party for Nina and Cliff. Who did he play and how long was he on? 

Albee portrayed Dr. Alan West. I'm not sure how long he appeared.

Thanks. I guess there was a lot of upheaval with the hospital at this time as this was also during that bizarre Jeff recast period. 

This seems like such a final goodbye for Cliff and Nina. Did the show plan to write them out but changed their mind?

I believe '89. Too bad Molly never came on as an adult. It's funny how some soap kids get forgotten.

I want to say November, 1989. Barbara went into labor during her wedding to Tom, as Travis was trying to get there to stop the wedding. He had left town because of a brain tumor.

They did leave the show. Nina came back by Spring for a few appearances, then full time by summer where Cliff was pronounced dead. That's is when she married Matt, then Cliff turned out to be alive in South America and PB returned to the show.

Yeah I guess I just wondered if it was originally planned as a permanent departure or if it was always meant for a return. 

I think it was originally their swan song but their fans wanted them back. They finally had TM back after Heather Stanford and Barbara Kearns. She was originally was only supposed to appear sporadically for visits, and then signed back on.

It's a shame they paired her with perpetually grating and pointless Matt and seemed to have no plans for her otherwise. I think Taylor Miller could have easily fit into that era of AMC with more effort. 

It was a shame that her pairing with Benny ended so quickly. I always liked Vasili Bogazianos especially his scenes with Phoebe.
