Administrator Toups Posted April 14, 2011 Author Administrator Share Posted April 14, 2011 Pardon my language but f*ck the talk shows and game shows. I'm not wasting my time on that! I don't care about them.

Members mamasita
this is a sad day for the soap world. only 3 and a half soaps left: YR, GH, DAYS and the half hour BB. After today's debacle, who is going to invest on these soaps? YR is the only soap that seems healthy enough to endure a few (4?) more years on the air. Are we ready to import foreign soaps? Maybe a cable channel is smart enough and starts showing all the UK and Australian soaps.
Members aMLCproduction
Eventually Y&R is going to exp. extreme budgets cuts. Their ratings are already falling and pretty fast. They won't be able to afford all those stunt castings and soon it's going to affect the vets. Just like the story of the other soaps. Sony and Bell need to be looking for a new HW is all I can say to at least have some hope or chance or at least for the moment stabilize the numbers. Maybe just maybe this whole thing can be a REAL wake up call to the last 4. I mean Days is good as gone for sure. OLTL was on a ratings uptick was it not? At least in demos? Surely ABC won't get the same thing out of it's new shows.
Members Gray Bunny
I'm surprised Y&R has reportedly had big budget cuts in recent months considering they're still pulling in numbers that soaps like Guiding Light was getting in the late 90's/early 00's. GL was still able to produce a good-looking show until 2004.
Members JNewt
What can I say guys? I think I'm officially done with soaps today, I've lost confidence in the people who make decisions on these soaps' future. I know the remaining three will be gone in the coming years. I loved watching GH lately but I'm done with GH also. I might've just watched SoapNet for the final time since they've only got 8 more months to go until their done. I still can't believe they canceled two popular soaps on the same day. Even though these shows might've not gotten the viewership they gotten in their heyday back in the 70s and 80s people still loved these shows whether they were watching them or not. It's amazing though Univision got 9.7 million viewers with one of its telenovelas this past week and it got me thinking how American soaps have been neglected and soaps in the rest of the world are still doing just fine. Even soaps on the webs are pulling in huge numbers. I hope soaps can resurface back one day but now I'm only hoping. Again I'm done with soaps today this is it for me I can't take it anymore.
