I was talking about JPL (but other than his scenes with Shane/AW, nothing about JPL is believable), not Rex, although I do think Rex is believable as his father too.

I don't think JPL is believable either. Most of his early "father" scenes with Shane involved yelling at him and since then I can't remember a lot else of interest. JPL seems to have little screen presence with anyone.

I just had this feeling because it would be a rip off of 10 years ago in 2001. Remember Nora was so sure Lindsey was Collin Mcgaiver's killer and put her right on the stand. Nora tried hard to destroy LIndsey on the stand because of their long standing feud and she did a good job of it. But then Nora realized it was actually her who killed Collin. I thought they were goin to do the same thing because Nora was desperate to put Clint behind bars for doing it and like Colin, Eddie did kidnap Nora (not for the length of time but same thing.) I'm so glad they made it Matthew because i really would have hated this storyline since i feel like i already saw it.

On a side now, wow! about Viki walking in on Charlie and Echo naked in bed. great friday cliffhanger and can't wait till monday. I don't remember the last time i said that about OLTL. LOL

I can appreciate Ron C's knowledge of current pop culture, but I think he goes a bit overboard with it and tries to make the show sound a bit too hip at times

It's the kind of thing that a little goes a long way--but that's not Ron C's style. If you just did a BIT of this stuff then it WOULD make the show seem more current then shoving it in "myface" :P

She's done porn stories but at least with her you sorta knew what the tone was meant to be. (Liza finding Jenny's porno, etc)

I keep on carping on this porn story but I'm not gonna stop. It's SOO ridiculous. So now Austin's character (does he have a name?) is gonna get back at Deanna? And why is he so desperate to hire porn actors from the motel when he seems to already have a crew of them?? And why does he shoot a porno with the motel door unlocked and open enough that James wlaks by and hears it? And why is this porn meant to seem like some big scary thing that could destroy poor Deanna when the guy running it is basically a comic nice guy, the outfit she has to wear (and covered up when James came in! Haven't they had sex?) is like a 1920's burlesque outfit (actually much less exposing), and to get poor Deanna loosened up and in the mood the big bad porn director doesn't offer her what (let's face it) most porn sets would--booze or drugs of various types, but A SODA. OH NOOOOOOOOOOO.

I dunno, it seems like Ron C wants to have his cake and eat it too (again what's new)--the porn story is meant to be titilating, camp and fun, but also meant to be taken seriously as something that could corrupt this poor girl (who needs to pay off her motel fee but hasn't even TRIED looking for work so doesn't seem all that desperate to me).

I don't mind AP, I know who he is but I never watched DOOL or ATWT. He's playing a good smarm here. And I like that it's apparently short-term so they won't feel the need to reform him and make him the newest town hero. :rolleyes:

I like him fine too--he's the least of my iffy feelings on the porn story and what tone it's meant to take. But I did like him on ATWT (from what I saw) fine, so don't quite get the hate.

In James defence, the porn he prob watches online (I wont say what kind of porn) probably doesn't have red satin sheets and 1920s burlesque outfits involved *whatsoever*. I don't think anyone but my grandma would walk in and see that setup and think it was anything but a cheap underwear catalog model shoot (or an MTV teen dating show).

This isn't the last of the porno endless minuteman shoot, I'm sure it will continue with Cutter...

I dunno, I think the Shane actor is doing his best, is miles better than Jack, but I'm not ready to give him any laurels yet (still it's better than him pre puberty and the campy farce he made his cancer storyline--ok the bald wig didn't help). I'm kinda more annoyed with the bullying story now than I was, because I actually see if done right it could be a *really* good story--but it's being so rushed (really? We're meant to believe that initial Shane/Echo chat about it was over 3 months back?), has had no build up, and is being handled by such bad actors (I've never had the problem some have had with Star as an actress, but you are in trouble when she's the best actor in the scene...)

The porn he watches doesn't have women at all.
