Recasting Tina OLTL

They failed Andrea and the fans with her comeback those few summers ago. The 40th anniversary in and of itself was wrapped around the ridiculous, which was at times fun, but for such an eagerly anticipated return, Tina's material was just too bogged down by the silly stuff. And with little to no interaction with Viki and Dorian, schedules be damned, that was just criminal. Her sour farewell to Viki is begging to be fixed, and sadly, I wouldn't be surprised if that never happens.

Well, they have a Tina-like character in Natalie, I think, but they keep bogging her down with ridiculous storylines.

I dont think Natalie is anything like Tina.. For one thing, a key Tina quality was being a social climber luxuriating in money and being fabulous and Natalie would rather slum it down in a cheap motel with dirty John

My point exactly, Cheap. ;-)

Why do we have to have Tina? Why can't we just have a Tina-like character?

It was Andrea and her chemistry with key actors which made Tina special. Tina-like characters end up being pointless wastes of oxygen like Aubrey and Stacey, and people who are only carried along by the talents of others and some occasional good moments, like Kim.

I cant beleive you just compared Tina to the likes of Aubrey and Stacey :o

That's why I said Tina was special thanks to other factors. If you just look at the basic Tina outlines at her peak - wanting money, glomming onto a prominent family - it's a dime a dozen.
