Camelot: Starz new series

It gets better with the second episode. It isn't Spartacus but it isn't The Tudors either, I am not quite sure how to describe it. It's like a show from The CW maybe?

By the end of the second episode the whole soap opera set up is in place. I will continue watching and if you want will post the links as I find them. I don't have Starz either.

I would very much appreciate that. I watched the second episode. I agree that it does sort of have the tone of a CW show. Something like The Vampire Diaries with nudity. I think it's the mix of humor with the darker aspects of the story. I had to laugh when Arthur was trying to get the sword and the peasant was trash talking. I look forward to seeing what Morgan is up to and seeing her and Merlin do battle (which seems inevitable).

They added this new twist with Guinevere is not the wife of his most loyal subject, so I see betrayal down the line. I was surprised to see the departure of one of the villains so early in the series. Not sure who my favorite character is here. I guess Merlin. Do you watch the SyFy show Merlin? It's interesting to see the same story told so differently. I have watched a few versions of this, and Morgana is the same in every one. Helen Mirren played her in the 1970s film Excalibur you can find on Netflix if you are interested.

I do watch Merlin of Syfy, glad to see it's coming back for a 4th season. I love this version of Morganna's feminism. It's handed in a clever way. Her comment to Igraine, when she said a Queen doesn't question her King was pretty funny. I like that this show has some humor to it. I also like that she sold King Lot out, but I'm a little sorry he's dead. I liked the actor. Oh well, his death scene was a good one.

Thanks again for posting the link Q. I really appreciate it.

I agree with you Eric. This show is simply a decent show with some good twists on an old story. I really like Morgan a lot. I think it's sort of clever that they are making her a feminist. Of course, she's obviously going to come to some sort of bad end and I'm not quite sure why she didn't just murder Arthur and Merlin when she's had the opportunity, but I'm in for the season. ^_^

I wish Arthur felt a little more guilty for screwing over his friend. He doesn't really seem to feel that guilty about it. I guess if Lancelot shows up it will be karma.

I think it's... good. Far from great, but it's fun, well acted, and I like the twists on the Arthurian legend.

Yeah, it isn't great but it is acceptable. Maybe this is the nerd in me, but I liked the unglamorous look at magic and am curious just what one does with toe nail clippings and trimmings of beard. The drinking of blood I liked because it got explained just what drinking someone's blood in a pentagram can do for you. On the SyFy show Merlin, magic is shown as just glowing eyes and weird chants. Here we see it is actually sort of ugly.

Ugly and dangerous. Even Merlin seems to be afraid of too much power in this version.

Thanks so much for posting the link Q, you are the best. Did you see the clip I posted in the "Lucky" thread? Not sure it's your type of show, but I'll watch anything by David Milch.
