Members dragonflies
I was wondering if anyone might know if you pre-order something from Amazon, do they charge you when the item is shipped or do they charge you when you pre-order it? Members Jonathan
Not sure. I pre-ordered La Lucci's book but I used store credit. I don't think they charge you until it ships, just like all other items. So there is an opportunity to cancel if you change your mind. But why would you not want La Lucci's book? Members sheilaforever
Indeed, and if the price lowers you pay less but if it increases you still pay that "original price".
Members Sylph
And they always let you know if anything changes. I think that when you pre-order or order an item they currently don't have, they keep sending emails that underline that they haven't charged you yet. Members Soapsuds
I'm an amazon whore. They don't charge your card until your item has been shipped. Members SFK
The Lincoln Square B&N is gonna be PACKED when she does her inevitable sigining. She's one of the VERY few people I would stand in line for to have my book signed. I wonder if I could bring my lazy butt to go do that. I guess we'll see. Members SFK
They won't charge until it ships but they will put a hold on your card. If you're using a check/debit card and you call to check your balance, it might say, "Your current balance is $54,075.32, your available balance is $54,053.12..." ATMs won't necessarily reflect this and you may accidentally overdraw, so if you're unsure, call your bank and someone will look up your account and tell you the status of your last transactions.
