CNN kept saying it is almost always a felony. Local stations were saying they come with mandatory jail time. Among other [!@#$%^&*] that's just not, in general true. I feel this rush to get the scoop in today's news orgnaizations is leading to news bureaus running fast and loose with their research. That also comes with musical chairs in the media today, and them being cheap and using interns for far too many things. Years ago, most news organizations would have a seasoned news director that would have that knowledge already.
