DAYS get more Passion-nate and GH makes some changes: Inside The Writers Room: July Edition

Well I hope no one expects JER type stories from this new HW team. I don't see it happening at all. Has the July been posted already or what?

Maybe not the outlandish storylines, but I want to see similarities to the writing style/method in terms of plotting and pacing and how the episodes are written.

Agreed. JER really created the stories. Clark and Thomas paced those thing sxout. I will say we should be able to get good pacing and well thought out plots.

Very surprised at the Days change. Didnt Michelle write with Rielly in his first or second run. Sounds like Quan doesn't have too much exp.

Meg Bennet is really good. I hope she lands some where. Maybe OLTL? SHe would be a good fit

Ugh at Shelly Altman from OLTL joining the GH Breakdown team. I find it kinda weird how Ron Carlivati will only be a SW, I'm sure he'll be promoted in no time...or maybe he's staying for NETLTL.

It is weird considering how OLTL is beating GH's ass right now in ratings and demos. I am sure RC is there to learn the show. THey will probaly give Garin a year or so then put RC in if he isn't at OLTL

I assume NETLTL means the online version of OLTL?

I think adding Rich to the script writing team is a plus for DAYS fans. Just because he wrote for Passions, doesn't mean he's a bad writer. Rich also was apart of the writing team at Guiding Light for nearly 10 years, from 84-93, and wrote at AMC during one of its most critically acclaimed periods.

I hope Quan has what it takes to do breakdowns, quite a feat for him to be promoted from assistant to actual writer.

Agreed. I'll always stand up for my Passions writers. They wrote a lot of funny scenes and dialogue. I hope DAYS adds some humour into the show.

Probably. I think she was hired at AW under JFP and then again at OLTL and now at GH.

If Wolf doesn't do well at GH I would not mind to see Carlivati/Wolf Co-HW. Like someone said let Ron learn GH and maybe give him a shot since OLTL seems to be drawing some good appeal from the viewers.

Well they hired him. I bet if RC doesn't go to NETOLTL and if Garin is not brining in the numbers, RC will be GH's HW. It's a no brainer

I love Meg Bennet to. She would have ben a good fit for Days. I loved her work on SuBe. I will never forget it. I wrote her in the mail once and she responded back it was so awesome. I asked her about the Martin's Syndrome storyline she was telling for Vanessa at the time.
