That September 18, 1998 episode was one of the best episodes of classic Y&R i have seen! It just had everything that (use to) represented what a soap opera was about, and had an awesome cliffhanger. Strange that 1998 was already a year where other soaps were dumbing down or about to dumb down, but I guess what people said about Kay Alden taking over after Bill was true, that she was able to open up the show.

I'm gonna have to try and watch all the other 1998 episodes of Y&R that have already been uploaded. It was probably Y&R's Best year in the late 90's.

It looked like 2003 was Victor's year to finally go down for all the terrible stuff he did and for all the people he wronged. He kissed Sharon, and had to suffer getting punches from Nick, and later John Abbott, had to face meeting his father albert who was just as terrible as Victor himself, all leading up to his arrest.

I guess for whatever stupid reason in 2004, Jack Smith thought it would be best for Victor to go about his business doing all the crushing again.

So they weren't really planning on letting Victor go down?

It was probably nice to see that even Victor could fall flat on his you know what when it came to physical alliances, (Nick and John being his example) It was always made out to be that no one would ever win a physical fight against the mustache, until those 2.

Dumb question, but what did Victor do in 2004-2005?

It's so depressing that she left while she was going out with Michael. I would have loved to see Heather's Victoria go at it with Lauren.

Not in the way the story would have logically dictated.

Victor was never going to really lose but the way he won BY losing was insane.

Neither of those was a fight especially since Victor never tried to fight back.

However Victor's been in plenty of fights though it's only been since Bergman was cast that Victor became unstoppable.

Built a rec center, got Jack fired, ran Jabot into the ground, made friends with Michael, helped end Brad & Ashley's marriage, fought the mob & made up with Victoria & Nick.

Michael would've never been paired with Lauren if Heather had stayed.

    • The Equalizer original series was not a big hit yet it became a movie franchise and got a reboot series. The Equalizer reboot lasted 5 seasons, so one season longer than the original series.

His social media/IMDb doesn't have his age but from some posts he's made, I'm guessing 1989 is his birth year.
    • Here's the timeline, as I recall it being published. The WGA strike was 5/2–9/27/2023 Annalynne McCord was announced as being hired in December 2023, for a one-year contract https://deadline.com/2024/06/days-of-our-lives-when-to-expect-annalynne-mccord-peacock-1235975806/ RonC's first scripts back from the strike began airing May 31, 2024 (around Konstantine & Maggie's wedding) https://www.tvinsider.com/1137709/days-of-our-lives-writers-return-15000th-episode-storylines/ Her first air date was June 19th 2024. The actress has said she was not told who she would be playing until she started taping. RonC 's replacements were announced July 2024, with his scripts airing through April 2025 Side note: DAYS social media team seems to be playing fast and loose with BTS videos, in terms of how far in advance they film content (e.g. their April Fools' Joke videos were clearly not filmed on 4/1/25), so we shouldn't assume anyone's current status, versus those who were there nine months ago.
    • April and her husband (Draper) are the "young leads" who tie all the storyline threads together.  They're normally in the center of the action.  In this particular storyline, Draper is the attorney who represents Paige Madison.  (The district attorney, Logan Swift, has given Paige Madison "temporary immunity from prosecution" if she will lead the police to the members of the Tobias Gang who stole the firearms.  But Paige mainly just ducks bullets from various gang members who pop-up to assassinate her.)
    • It's one thing to post about a soap's rumors or gossip, which in point of fact we've all done. It's another to present yourself as the inside source who knows something to be fact that's about to break wide, then backtrack and call it just Twitter speculation. Between those two extreme poles you have to commit to one or the other. If I got something wrong, I'd say it. (Nor would I keep playing insider after what I pulled with Drake Hogestyn, which should've gotten someone permanently banned.) And regardless, you don't open with this 'news' you don't actually want to stand by yet by mocking DRW's extremely valid concerns re: how the Trina character and Tabyana Ali has been marginalized and put out to virtual pasture ever since the day NAC left. Her playing out her current contract in a C-storyline with Kai does not change that.
    • Yeah, I thought it would be more explosive or heated and it was kind of standard.  Both can do more with the material.  I just don't think the writing was there.
    • Daphnée and TMG are on Instagram live (as we speak) and are saying they don’t know why Maurice left.
