Members lovely_m
http://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2010/09/29/nbc-and-bryan-fuller-the-munsters/ I like Fuller's shows, but most of them if not all always last for one season. I can't imagine this one will last any longer, watch me be wrong on that.

Members DRW50
Why does everything have to be remade? Why? And wouldn't the whole mess with Heroes, where he left for a flop show and then returned and left again almost immediately, make them wonder whether he should get another show so fast? Can't we ever be more obscure and remake something like December Bride or something?
Members Sylph
LOL; I love it how you imply he was the reason Heroes sucked. Daisies had an awful premise, which just wasn't writeable, sustainable, it was never supposed to be a show, however.
Members All My Shadows
Hell yeah! Starring Eileen Fulton. No, seriously, there are some shows that lend themselves to being remade and modernized. Peyton Place, for one.
Members DRW50
It seems like the shows that have a premise which can be remade are those which often aren't. (cue some person in the media telling us that Desperate Housewives is the new Peyton Place) I wouldn't say he was the reason. The reason was Tim Kring. But his return and very quick departure doesn't suggest a lot of stamina for running a show which isn't smooth.
Members lovely_m
This thing was pitched as Modern Family + True Blood. What part of True Blood does he want on this show and can he do it on NBC?
Members quartermainefan
This has to be better than that version with Lee Meriweather and John Schuck, but I think the appeal of the Munsters is they just had the right cast. It isn't a genius show but is is entertaining and who can they possibly get to fill Fred Gwynne, Al Lewis and Yvonne DeCarlo's shoes? They just don't make these type of character actors anymore. And I have no idea what Modern Family is, but True Blood is not a comedy. Is MF? Anyway, no remake will ever erase the originals, so let Yvonne say it best when she is still in reruns somewhere or online, and this remake is completely forgotten Please register in order to view this content
Members All My Shadows
Yes, MF is one of the more popular sitcoms on the air now. It won the comedy series Emmy last month. I hope they can recognize the clear and fundamental difference between The Munsters and The Addams Family: the Addamses were fully aware of the fact that they were different and reveled in it; the Munsters had no clue and were confused when people reacted to them so strangely. Members SFK
"So, um, once you’ve picked your jaw up off the floor, let’s see the synonyms for 'amazing' you come up with to describe the very notion of this show below." So, um, NO, stfu, are you serious? Create a new show exploring these themes if you must, but leave The Munsters alone. The Munsters Today was torture enough ("♫We went to sleep many years ago, and we woke up with a brand new show!♫" [not that I didn't watch it every Saturday afternoon ]).
