As said earlier, I think it makes sense as the victim who has had enough and then decides to become hard and bitter and screw everyone else over. I don't think the speed of the change was necessarily even the problem as people can just "snap". I think the problem was that there was no explanation of the change. Perhaps there was.

There really wasn't..she was with Brian, but they were not lighting any sparks and he was a boring character, and because that dullard fell for Shannon she goes dark? But it did work for the character, which is odd, as GL tried it with Beth (who was off screen for years) and it never worked, and the character lost all connection to her past and became a plot point, the vixen, the bitch, the victim, the heroine..whoever was writing that day changed it. Beth's change should have been easier, raped by her step father, Lujack dying, being kidnapped and attacked by Blackburn, having amnesia and basically controlled by another man, then bacially being dumped by her Prince so he could come home for revenge...it should have made sense but didnt, which goes to show what day to day writing does for a character.

That reminds me of Claire Ramsey circa 1985 and that, I think, was all from one writer. She went from sweet girl to bitch to psycho to brain damaged within the course of about a year until they shipped her off for brain rehab. When she resurfaced years later, everything seemed to have been forgotten except bitch mode and that seemed to work the best for her.

Ha..the Pratt/Hammer interview was hilarious as she totally dissed McTavish for that.

"other" Kasnoff is Mark.

Yes. Sam was blinded in a plane crash. In the same crash, Damian was presumed dead and Margo developed PTSD. The villainous Umberto Malzone (aka Diego Santana) was responsible for the crash and is masquerading as Sam's therapist. Emily somehow found out who he was, and helped him terrorize Sam. When Em threatens to turn on him, he rapes her.

Yes. that's OG Mike and OG Rosanna.

In case it's not spelled out, Carly is pregnant with Mike's child. She's scheming with Lisa's son Scott Eldredge (that's Doug Wert, he'd previously been played by Joe Breen). It's the last month of Maura's first run on the show.

Shawn Christian's Mike or Mike Kasnoff or wasn't there another Mike, also?

Thanks some more!!
