I tend to doubt that York will be in those episodes as they are from seven years earlier, in 1947. The episode description of the radio shows concerns the return of Rosemary's husband Bill from war with amnesia. It is too bad because what a wonderful cast they have in 1954. In addition to York, Edge of Night vets Mandel Kramer (Bill Marceau) and Virginia Kaye (Rose Pollock) appear. And the fabulous character actress Barbara Baxley, best remembered to me as the villainous Margaret Jardin from Where the Heart Is.

Barbara Becker looks so very different in these photos than she did on Road of Life. She played the bitch so well. It is nice to see her smiling and looking glamorous. I wish that I had episodes of her on Guiding Light. I remember my mother being impressed with her performances on GL playing Doris Crandall. Thanks for this.

It was good to see Mandel Kramer. He was later on The Guiding Light and The Edge of Night (until retirement).

I had not known that Amzie Strickland had appeared on a radio serial. I know that she was on the television serial Full Circle.

Fran Carlon was on As the World Turns as Julia Burke (mother of Susan) and even later on the primetime serialized drama The Hamptons.

It was also good to see William Johnstone in a pre-As the World Turns role (He played Judge James Lowell for many years.). He also played the title role on radio's The Shadow. Does anyone know if he was married?

If anyone wanted to read the rest of that Barbara Beckel interview, I added the last page. Sorry about that.

Thanks for the extra details, everyone. I've seen a few other bits on Johnstone, can't remember if they mention his personal life.

    • I appreciate the use of spoiler tags whenever there's something long to post, or if there's a lot of something like pictures or videos or embedded material.  So, thanks again!

    • Overall, this was a satisfying episode. Eva's desperation to stop Dana was gut-wrenching. I know it is a cliche to say that Ambyr Michelle is the show's breakout star but she is dazzling. She makes the most out of every second she is on camera. And Kat has proven to be such a good rival. I'm looking forward to the fallout scenes from DD. At the Paley Center event Sheila Ducksworth said something to effect of everyone being heartbroken watching her scenes.  I'm also looking forward to seeing Dana interact the rest of the cast in her true identity since she has been more or less siloed for the past 3 months.
    • Finally, it's been a while since an entire episode was good.  LOL  Leslie and Eva are just the stars of this show. I get disappointed whenever they aren't gone.  So that was a good cliffhanger, however, I have to be a Debbie Downer just a bit......the music sucked and so did the fade out to credits. That final minute could've been so much better, so much soapier with proper background music and editing. I think it's time to move on and get a new music composer, music directors, and editors.  Bring in people who know how to produce a soap.
    • I agree. The McBrides, the Hawthornes, and the teens should have been there. Even Shanice and Ashley would have made sense to fill out the crowd since they work with Ted and Nicole. (Though BTG is probably saving the Lulu reveal for much later) I also would like to see the restaurant themed slightly differently for each event. We see the country club almost everyday, it would be nice to switch up the space for each special event with different dining chairs, different floral arrangements, pipe and drape, etc. They have done it before for the wedding and the fashion show. Everyone kept praising Eva for the party but the space looked the same as it always does.

Count me as a Doug fan
    • I mean...if I had to pick...this event so far definitely does not have enough extras vs Nicole's award event where I felt THAT had the right amount. This one...yeah...tear the lack of extras apart! lol.

Kim was cast before Don Stewart left GL.
    • Another I wonder about if they thought Joe Gallison would have more of an impact after his AW success. Was Agnes still involved with OLTL then?
    • I thought I was the only one. They do nothing for me. I enjoy Dani which seems to be an unpopular opinion here, but Andre to me is as unnecessary as Ashley and Derek. Not only should Vanessa, Nicole's bestie, and her husband have been there but where are Naomi and her man?
    • I think Vanessa not being there was a matter of choices in who to have there without overloading the interactions. Nicole is going to have to interact with her kids, parents, sister and of course have it out with Ted. Any interaction with Vanessa will have to be after the whole mess goes down.
