Y&R: A Nifty '50s Wedding

The 50's style wedding is quite appropriate for the 1950's mindset that says marriage is the ultimate acheivement despite the fact that Victoria has had countless failed marriages and Billy's track record isn't much better. It makes the characters look like bigger idiots than they already are.

At least in the 50's women brushed their hair,so Victoria might look decent for once.

How about a story where 2 people decide that maybe marriage isn't the best option and choose to live together in a committed relationship.

Maybe B&V should take stock and decide to shack up and see if this relationship has any staying power.

Especially when the children do not share their parents' finesse for traditional, character-driven storytelling. Let's be honest: Bradley Bell could be in charge of Y&R right now, and it would still suck. Yet, because it's all about keeping it in the family, apparently, the last, classy daytime drama left is going down the old tubes.

Don't ever compare this sh!tastic show to SB.

On SB, they were laughing with us.

Clearly, on Y&R, they're laughing at us.

Hell, even Sunset Beach would be an unfair comparison at this point, considering Aunt Bette had more nuance & layers than Katherine Chancellor currently does.
