For those of you who are viewers of other soaps, do the other shows have as many entrepreneurs and business owners as All My Children? It seems like everyone owns or runs some sort of company.

Cortlandt Electronics - Erica/Caleb

Chandler Enterprises - JR/Scott

Casino & Cambius Industries - Ryan

Pine Valley Hospital - David

Fusion - Greenlee/Kendall

Krystals - Krystal

Also, Tad owns a PI firm and I think still runs Orsini and Jack and Liza both have their respective law practices. There are few characters who work for the man.

Tad doesnt have a PI firm and he doesnt run Orsini. He gave up his PI firm back when he was shot at Angie and Jesse's wedding and for the longest time remained unemployed until Ryan recently gave him a job.

Speaking fo which, why and how did Ryan get Cambius Industries and why doesnt Zach have that one?

thats freelance stuff. Jesse asked a favor as a friend. He's also used his skills to help his brother Jake with the David mess. Just bc he doesnt have a PI firm anymore, doesnt mean he doesnt still have those skill and wouldnt use them when necesary. He gave up his actual business and does not have an office where he takes on clients and cases.

whatever you want to call it. He is in the business; he doesnt OWN a business. The point is, the PI firm which he once ran is no more. He does not own it and he has no office. He left that behind to focus on his family. This casino position is the first full time job he's had since 2008

I remember the episode where he said he was going to leave his business behind. But if you say he freelances that means that he owns a business. He doesn't need an office with a pool table to say he is a business owner.

IIRC, Ryan owns Alexander Cambias Sr.'s shares. Alexander willed them to him on the condition that he had no grandchildren. When it was revealed that Bianca was carrying Michael's child, the shares were going to go to her, but then everyone believed Miranda was dead, so Ryan got the shares. I don't even remember what happened when Miranda turned up alive, when Ethan showed up, when Alexander was revealed to not be dead, etc.

I rememebr all that but Ryan lost them when the Cambias family, Zach, Ethan and Miranda appeared. Thats why Bianca works at Cambias bc she is doing it on Miranda's behalf. I beleieve Zach was running Cambias prior to him leaving so I dont know how Ryan got in on that

None of this is official. It amounts to his friends and family asking him for help bc they know what he can do. I doubt they even pay him and its a favor that he does bc of their relationship and probably bc he's bored. Strangers arent calling him asking him to take on cases

Nope, I never thought of that and don't find it amusing. As AnnSS said, if you're going to post that [!@#$%^&*], don't try to hide it, own it!

Caleb does look unwashed and gross. Maybe he and Jake should hang out.

I also felt the Caleb/Opal chemistry and I hope the show goes there eventually instead of sticking Caleb with Krystal.

I'm also glad Erica's out of Fusion and Bianca's taking her place.

I love Caleb's nicknames, too. It reminds me of Sawyer from Lost.

I'm looking forward to learning more about why Caleb hates Adam. Hopefully this will be a major story down the road and David Canary will make a brief return for it.

For the rest of the episode, I loved JR's fantasy highlighting how pathetic Marissa is compared to Annie. The dialogue sounded to me like Marissa was almost a mother to him instead of a wife, making him feel safe rather than alive. I also loved Damon kissing Liza. They both seemed taken aback by it, imo, and I hope it's the beginning of them falling for each other.

    • Yeah, not sure why Jack and Jen didn’t rush to Marlena - or even Carrie - to offer their condolences. A few flashbacks would've been a nice touch too. Instead, we got a whole episode of them talking about Chad and Abby? Come on. On the bright side, I loved Anna’s scenes with Marlena and Carrie - sweet and heartfelt, felt like a real 80s throwback.
    • Martin and Smitty were designed to avoid the stereotype of gay men sleeping around (which to an extent is true). If you recall Martin had a line about them not being open when Chelsea came to talk to him. The producers are walking a very fine line right now and it might not be popular to say but I can understand it. Establishing enough footing to ward off complaints will let them showcase gay characters more openly later.
    • The week was decent. They have started to rotate their stories and finally got a rhythm going. I disagree about them allowing every character to have a moment to shine though. Nicole really hasn't been given anything to do. I completely agree with all this. I adore Doug and hope he makes it through.

    • There was the one appearance in '96, but otherwise, that's correct as far as I know.

Question for the B&B group: I see @rsclassicfanforever has uploaded multiple seasons from Videoland  (in the folders that are to be put away). They are huge folders and difficult to download so I started breaking them down into months but I realized they are by season so for example, Season 4 spans from March 1990 to March 1991. Now I'm wondering where to actually place them, since we have the Full Episodes section divided by year, not seasons. And most of these seasons we already have in full, so these are duplicates. Not sure if it's necessary to keep the older versions. I could just make another new section for Seasons, so the main folders would be "Behind the Scenes and Interviews," "Clips," "Full Episodes," "Full Seasons," "Music CDs," and "photo archive Marquise" but I'm not sure that really makes sense. Also wondering since we have almost every full episode now if "Clips" can be deleted in its entirety, as it's nearly 300GB.
    • CBS moving Murder, She Wrote from Sunday to Thursday was straight up sabotage. Les Moonves knew exactly what he was doing.
    • I sure hope you’re right. The lack of sets is maddening!
