can someone explain the ending. Was that expected? Why would Eli be working with Ford? What exactly has he done?

Not expected at all. The story behind why Eli is doing this hasn't been explained yet. We will probably get all the answers in Tuesday's episode.

It made me think back to the end of David's first run, when they had that weird story where Kelly used him to get back at Dorian and Joey and then he tried to force himself on her and she hit him over the head and thought he had died and all the rest. If that story was on now would it be how David was just trying to prove his love for Kelly?

On the show these days, with a few exceptions, if you treat a woman badly (Rex, John, Todd, Ford, etc.) that means you are a hero, and the true victim. If you treat a woman decently (Ross, Eli, Sky, etc.) that means you are actually psycho and/or evil and you're just a big con. You can tell who the real men are by the way they openly treat women like garbage.

You've summed it up nicely. Men who are somewhere in the middle, like Cristian and Shawn, get little to no airtime as a result.

BTW, it's interesting that the writers have never had Langston really sign on to that 'Cramer woman' thing. She always calls Dorian by her name, but Dorian always calls Langston her daughter. It's such an odd dynamic.

Given the David-Ford confrontation (and David's sudden penchant for hookers and one night stands) I have to wonder if David will end up being Ford's father - because of some dalliance in his youth. All this talk about Ford being a carbon copy of David is just silly. They're nothing alike. Now I wonder if the writers are only keeping David around to sell Ford.

I see similarities between Ford and David. They are both vain and think they are God's gift to women. David compared Dorian to Langston and said that he can have her anytime he wants and that she always takes him back. I think David has that sleaze factor now that we see him sleeping with a hooker and paying for one for his 16 year old brother. And well Ford, he's just a sleaze.

While I don't believe the rumors myself I have heard people say he is going to be related to Jessica Leccia's character.

She will possibly be his mother.

Oh Gahhd, that would make THREE btothers... I hope not. Come to think of it, had Nate had any scenes with Ford or James?

David >>>> Ford, and it's questionable as to how much that's really saying. David at least has a humorous "make fun of my own image" camp factor. Ford is just smug and conceited and now they're trying to force his wounded heart down our throats. No thanks. Those little flashes of weakness across Langston's face were killing me, send them both away.

He hasn't interacted with them, but on Jessica Leccia's first day she was looking at the newspaper and Ford's attack was the front page story. She seemed very worried and concerned like she knew him.

What the show apparently wants viewers to forget, or, then again, perhaps they want us to get all swoony over that too, is that Ford really enjoyed hurting Langston. He got a thrill out of all he was putting her through. He had the standard soap smirks when she couldn't see him.

It's telling that this too is painted as an example of what a real stud should be. A sadist who loves to destroy women.

Making Nate into the third Ford brother would make sense from the show's point of view, as they are desperately trying to sell all of them as the ideal younger leading men ("young" in Nate's case being the Saved by the Bell Buddy Bands era), but it sure does make me laugh, bitterly, at the memory of all the talk that Sky, Fish, Kyle, etc. would have been fine if only they'd been related to the show's main families.

 I miss that show sometimes, a highlight of a Saturday like today. "♫Here's a message that I'm sendin' to you! You can do what you wanna do! Put your mind to it, go for it, you're gonna make a sweat! Rock and roll, you ain't seen nothin' yet!♫"

I *almost* can't believe that they're really building this Ford family. Such a classic Dodo soap move, especially for this show that hasn't been good in recent years when it comes to incorporating new families, let alone one as superficial and cliched as this one. It's hard to keep rooting for OLTL when they're still making decisions like this, and no, I won't blame it all on network interference.

Exactly! Like I said before, I can believe that we'll soon learn that TIIC are pitching this show as another Radio Disney (Teen) soap. everything seems to be headed that way.

When did Ford get an ass?

All the other times he was in boxer briefs he never had much of one.

Interesting, and a little convoluted as per usual. I wonder if Eli is somehow related to them too, which would have made Dani and Nate cousins had Ross really been her dad.

Ford wears padded drawlz.
