Members Jay
You do know that Michael Landen ("Duke") has been dead since 2004, don't you? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Louden Michael Louden (1964-September 4, 2004) was born in Marblehead, Massachusetts and went on to become an actor. He studied theater at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill but graduated from Juilliard. He started as a 1988 day player on daytime soap Another World but his most notable role was Duke Kramer As the World Turns. Duke was a moody young man who discovered his father was the volatile John Dixon (allowing Louden many scenes with theater powerhouse Larry Bryggman). Duke went on to medical school as well as a lengthy relationship with Lien Hughes, played by future ER star Ming-Na. Louden played the role from 1988–1990 and for a brief visit in 1993. Louden had a small part on One Life to Live in 1995 as a court reporter. Among the handful of his other film and TV appearances was a role in the 2000 film Space Cowboys. In 2003 he briefly hosted the video game show Arena on the G4 network. While working at G4, Michael became very involved with the Black Rabbit Society. He continued to work in theater and independent film until his sudden death. Although his death was investigated as a possible but doubtful suicide, police, based on substantial evidence, concluded he died accidentally in the process of autoerotic asphyxiation. Members Khan
Yes, I knew Michael Louden had passed away, but it's not like you can't recast Duke, right?
Members Jay
I supppose. But what's the appeal? Would you want them to bring back Andy Dixon played by someone who's not Scott D.?
Members Khan
You mean, aside from the fact that he's John's son and Andy, M.J. and Margo's half-brother? Haven't a clue. ;-) I would hope TPTB would at least ask SD if he were interested in coming back first. If he isn't, then find someone good to replace him. Members Jay
It wouldn't be the same for me, especially since they're going off the air. As it is now, I need to consult my scorecard whenever more than three Children of Oakdale are in a room together, they've been recast so many times. Holden is about the only original Gen X/Gen Y cast member. Am I missing anyone? Really? You would enjoy another Andy Dixon for, say, ten episodes? I'd be pissed off. That's like rubbing our noses in how badly they fucked the show up.
Members Khan
For ten episodes? Then, it's DeFreitas or nothing. For some reason, I thought we were "talking" as if 1) Larry Bryggman was returning permanently, and 2) ATWT wasn't going off the air. As it is, though, I'll be happy if Reid turns out to be John's illegitimate son.

Members Jay
Oh, I thought we were talking here-and-now, or at least there-and-soon. If the show were going to live on, I wouldn't mind a recast of Duke (Duke, schmuke). Andy, that's another story. There can be no other Andy Dixon than Scotty D., any more than there could ever be another John, Bob, Kim, Barbara, or (especially) Lucinda. Members dragonflies
The new TV Guide is reporting that Larry Bryggman shot 12 days worth of "kickass" episodes with Elizabeth Hubbard Goutman says it's like he never left and says watching those two gigantic talents go head to head was awesome
Members DRW50
Thanks. I'll look forward to this. I hope he has some scenes with Dusty and Margo too. And Lisa. And Barbara. And Kim. Most of all Kim.
