Did you really expect anything else?

Goutman has shown time and time again that he doesn't care about the audience, so why expect him to change now. With the way things are going he'll probably end the show with a Ciccone family picnic or something.

Nobody important is returning. There are only 4 weeks of taping left, pretty sad. We were hearing of the returns for GL's finale months before the end.

OTOH, we better at least get a tribute to Helen Wagner/Nancy Hughes or I will be pissed.

We have heard about returns. Jen Landon, Jesse Soffer, Anthony Herrera, Teri Garber, Mary Beth Evans, Sarah Glendaring, and Kristina Sisco.

Yes...arguably, they're not a star-studded "who's who's" of returnees...but not everyone is Julianne Moore either. And if you add her, Peter Parros, Lesli Kay and Mark Collier together (ugh...not to mention the Aussie Bastard), in the last year, we've had a string of returns.

I don't know who's left "out there" that we could realistically "get". Larry Bryggman ain't coming back. It would be nice to see someone like Rosemary Prinz return if they did a funeral for Nancy. The one glaring return out there that I think would strike a chord with a lot of the audience (and arguably the easiest to get) is Scott DeFrietas.

I don't know why they couldn't have brought Anne Sward back. I know Lyla wasn't this iconic character but she has three children currently on the show. If they're bringing back the truly worthless Lucy, then there should be room for Lyla.

I also wish they could have brought back Cady McClain one last time. Understandably a lot of people hated her returns but I really like her chemistry with Maura West and I would have enjoyed seeing them together one last time. It would have been a nice coda for both characters.

See that's who I was hoping to see. I can't believe there was no mention of Lyla during Brad's funeral. No phone call...nothing. That was ridiculous!! Anne Sward should have been back a long time ago.

I'd really like to see Anna Stuart as Donna Love bringing Bridget and Michele to visit Molly. Heck, they have Ellen Wheeler there, they could just have Marley visit with the twins if not Donna. Also one last return by Cass Winthrop would be great.

Like it or not, the AW legacy is part of ATWT's history as well, and this would be good recognition of all the other P&G soaps whose long history will also be coming to a close on television in September.

Mention of Jessica reminds me, the Jade/Derek thing needs to be resolved. I really want Jade to return, either the real one or the new one.

Agree it would be nice to see Andy back, preferably with Denise and Hope!

Also it was not mentioned that Seth and Aaron made returns already last year as well.

AW is NOT part of ATWT's legacy. The contract-dictated crossover of Eplin and the ensuing visits by some AW vets were insignificant blips in ATWT's history.

As for returns, Bryggman is not returning. He hated being there when he was there. The show was never more than a paycheck for him, and I doubt it holds any sentimental value. I could see Rosemary Prinz returning, even more so now for a Helen Wagner tribute. Would be nice to see Patsy Bruder too, but that probably won't happen. A lot of current viewers probably don't even know who the hell Ellen is, and it would take too much time for the show to explain the character and her history. It makes sense for De Freitas to return. What's the deal with that? Why won't they have him back for cameos? He's married to one of their biggest stars.

All they would have to do is have Emily in a scene with Ellen, calling her "my grandmother," or something, then have her in a scene with Penny or Kim or Bob.

It would take a lot less effort than the incredibly clumsy shoehorning of the Ciccione family over the last year, complete with some of the worst acting ever on this show.

Goutman only cares about his history with the show, not the show itself. So apparently that means a ton of dead weight returning to be dead weight one last time.
