April 26, 201015 yr Member RIP Alaina Reed Hall Love, love, love 227, the early seasons at least. Once Dylan McMillan and Paul Winfield come around, it's time to skip out on the lease. My favorite character was Pearl. Helen Martin is shamefully underrated and such an unsung hero of 70s and 80s sitcoms.
April 26, 201015 yr Member Never watched its original run but caught it in syndication. I loved Sandra, Pearl, and Rose. The final season was absolutely TERRIBLE.
April 26, 201015 yr Member MAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRYYYYYYYYYYYY! LMAO!! Jackee was the ish. It was so wrong the way Sondra would always say "Hello ladies.......and Maaaary." The most memorable episode had to be the one where they all somehow got locked in a store with Pee Wee Herman. Random and crazy, but hilarious. Edited April 26, 201015 yr by All My Shadows

April 26, 201015 yr Author Member It's too bad we haven't seen more of 227 on DVD. I own season 1 but the show didnt take off until Jackee Harry became just Jackee.
April 26, 201015 yr Member That dude Stoney Jackson (?) that joined at the end annoyed the f.uck out of me. Why were all those useless characters brought on? To make up for the loss of Jackee? Yay my 1000th post
April 26, 201015 yr Member Ugh, Stoney Jackson, him and Dylan. Can't say that I was a big fan of Paul Winfield's Julian either, though I always love a good '80s postmod penthouse set. And remember they brought on Toukie Smith to replace the Sandra character too. TPTB wanted Sheryl Lee-Ralph for the role of Sandra but Marla Gibbs thought she was too polished, too elegant. Jackee had just the right grit. Coincidentally, both ladies went on to be Anthony's love interests on "Designing Women".

April 26, 201015 yr Author Member Weeping Wanda!! Do we have to start a "Good Times" thread?? Edited April 26, 201015 yr by Ruxton Hills
April 26, 201015 yr Member Pee Wee with the bow & arrow is LOVE. YES! LOL They did a 227 reunion on the Today Show a few weeks ago and Regina King made it a point to mention how fun it was to have Pee Wee on the show. Run-DMC was on too. I always wondered what happened to Rose's daughter Tiffany and then they had Countess Vaughn on for a season or two and she disappeared. It's a crime that 227 isn't on TV anywhere anymore. Last I saw of it was on TVLand a few years ago, but like so many shows around that time, they fawned over it for a week, watched it slide in the ratings, stuck in the timeslot basement, and kicked it off within a month. They did the same thing to Benson.
