I can't wait to see her back on Days. Missy as Jennifer was the MUST get for the Alice tribute. She is the one out of all the returns I look forward to seeing most.

The problem with some of the recent returns is that they've been gone so long and so much of the canvas has changed, that it's like "yeah okay Justin Kiriakis is back, who gives a fuk?" I mean seriously, he's just not needed. His presence packs the same punch as Dr. Daniel Jonas. Meh.

Days uses more of its vets than almost any other soap other than Y&R so I really don't know what you are talking about here. Days needs to focus and move forward with the combination of vets and new characters instead of continuing to bring back old character over old character with no purpose. Look how long Justin has been back and they have done next to nothing with him so what is the point?

I'm so tired of some soap fans hanging on to dead wood, but ultimately it is the writers at fault. The network forced Days to cull the cast, forcing them focus, now they are back to scattered story telling.

Victor, and Maggie, maybe. But the rest have run their course. Stefano serves no purpose without John and Marlena on the canvas. Kate is played out and should've been killed off in a murder mystery a long time ago. Vivian should never have returned--she was unneeded and the character was essentially finished in 1998. Carly isn't Carly anymore, she's essentially a brand-new character and doesn't belong.

The same thing could be argued about John & Marlena, who has every storyline anyone could ever think of, in one way or another.

I dont midn Stefano in his new role though, however he is rather pointless most of the time.

But i will take Maggie & Victor working in actual storylines and having a role over john/mar, patch/kayla, and any other supercouple. i would also take them over bo/hope. I would hate an all horton/brady show, fans bitch all the time about how incest that gets, and they are right. Also, once upon a time the Bradys were new. They came in and took over, its time for them to bust out.

The only thing Carly has been food for since her return to freeing Bo from Hopeless.

I am a character fan. With a super couple the characters disappear. Instead of Marlena or Bo i got JohnMar & Bope. It was annoying, and i am glad Days has finally moved away from this. There was a time and a place for super couples, and it is over. They held the show back.

There was a Days of our Lives before supercouples, and there is one after it. I am not surprised at all that after Days freed itself from its past it was able to move forward and gain ratings via an amazing storyline about characters - Sami, Nicole, even newbie Mia. They drove and carried that baby story.

I would love a Marlena return, but her fate was sealed when the show had to bring John back after killing him off. At least we had a few months of an amazing Marlena.

And yet, I don't give a damn. The ratings are up, the show's been renewed through 2011 when nobody thought it had a chance. What DAYS did worked. Frankly, the show doesn't need you as a viewer.
