Yeah, that lil bombshell deserves a follow-up. Especially since we only had Teresa's non-reaction (since she has "delayed reactions," for when her little brain catches up with the rest of us). I'd like to see Jackie's triflin' head on a platter.

Meanwhile, did we gloss over the fact that there’s a new Peacock reality dating show in the works that will feature RHONY’s Luann, Potomac’s Gizelle and Ashley, and OC’s Shannon?

Plus, there’s a Vanderpump Villa-esque show in the works with RHONY’s Dorinda as host of Bluestone Manor.

Bravo may have dumped OG RHONY, but they just can’t quit that cast.

RHONY:

I don't know... the debut season of the new NY cast members wasn't horrible.. but the powers that be needed to do a little bit of cast adjusting for their 2nd season.   I would have 86'd Ubah because that individual is a walking red flag and seems almost boastful about abusing her significant others... and told Jenna she needed to share all aspects of her life or she needed to exit stage left.

We shall see

RHONJ:

I haven't watched it yet.. but maybe this new format might be the way to go for the other franchises.   I always roll my eyes at reunion time because all of the women look like ridiculous in their outfits and it's mostly a lot of yelling and cross talk.. and Andy Cohen just sucks as a moderator.  I still don't understand why he won't just go away LOL

RHOC:

@Taoboi You noticed my lukewarm feelings toward Lesa on Dubai... but I tend to have those type of feelings for a housewife on every franchise that I watch.

For instance, on RHOC.. those feelings go toward Gina.  Unlike Lesa, Gina has no real value to this franchise at all... and I think she has something on Bravo/Andy because other more qualified housewives have been let go while she remains.

She did herself no favors with putting Jenn's business out there and including it on the show.  Not only did it make Jenn look bad, it also made Gina look like an idiot.  And I wouldn't ever want to use Gina as a realty especially since the girl can't keep her mouth shut.

The new NY season made me fall asleep in every episode. And I liked 1-2 of the women at best. I hope in season 2 the early fakeness and niceness gets old and they start going into it. I am not into reality tv being boring. I know some people like nice-nice episodes and petty drama, but it's not my cup of tea. I want Season 2-3 level of ISSUES.

Atlanta - I don't care what people say about Kenya, I can't imagine the show without her. She is my daily dose of crazy and psychotic when I need it. I hope she is not gone forever.

BH - The show needs a huge shakeup. Kyle has to go - she has milked her family drama as much as she can and at this point, knowing how scripted and fake she is - I would prefer she continues acting in the Halloween franchise and leave the show. Bring back LVP and the show will be re-vitalized. LVP was the narrator of BH, it's like Sex and the city without Carrie's monologues - it just doesn't work.

@Cat, I love real estate as I worked in the industry (the title portion) for 4.5 years. So I wholeheartedly enjoyed Brynn's apartment. IDK if I would've redid the apartment and possibly lost my security deposit in the process, but I tip my hat to her. She upgraded the place. And I don't know if I could ever live in NYC with the small apartments there for the price being paid for it. What NYers pay for an apartment, I can get a mortgage on a "McMansion" here in Georgia.

I might be in the minority but I enjoy nuRHONY. That's why I am all for a NJ reboot if they need to do one. Same with Atlanta if this upcoming season does not pan out (I get vibes it won't). Honestly, I am to the point where I feel Bravo needs to keep Dubai, Miami, nuNY, SLC, and possibly Potomac (this season will be their determining factor too), dump the rest and either reboot in those cities or find newer cities altogether. The brand is starting to wane.

lol. I know. re: Lesa on Dubai. I think we all have that one HW on euvery show. I'm sad for Gina because it sounds like she's gone downhill since the Great Reunion Glowup.

Ahhhhhhhhh!!! Thank you!!! I'm always here for my girl Brynn!!! lol.

It does remind me how I used to watch the MILLION DOLLAR franchise cuz I loved looking at that kind of stuff. Heck...I'm shocked that is former pop star Willa Ford now does.

And then there was three.  I enjoyed it as well and look forward to it returning. Though I do worry about Eric being involved.

I love what she did with the place. Those gold plated sockets. The wallpaper in her second walk-in closet. The high ceilings which let in the light. As a renter in a small location, this gives me lots of inspiration. Though I will probably never be able to buy in this city. Sob.

Like you and @Taoboi I love nuRHONY (and I love oldRhony). I'm invested in these ladies now and cannot wait for S2, even if it is a gentle gander in the concrete jungle. Some reboots work better than others, and as @Gray Bunny pointed out, the OG RHONYs are still viable. Lu was caught on film yesterday surmising how a mix of OGs and the nuCast need to be involved. I hold out hope because I think some of those pairings would work. As for NJ, I blame Bravo. They knew the audience was at its wit's end, but no, they wanted to keep Melissa, B!tch Boy, Marge and Whoville, and make Fetch collectively happen. To your earlier point, I think they knew NJ would flop and they are fine with that.

@Cat I will always have room in my heart for the Countess.

But I know I'm in the minority when it comes to fans who like both old and nu NY.

And this interview with Brynn has me giggling. She is such an Aquarius! Love it.

I was over old RHONY post-Bethenny, Tinsley, Dorinda, and Carole leaving. Honestly, the show peaked for me in season 10. Leah was horrible for the show, and Eboni would've been a better casting choice for current NY instead of the old rendition. Plus, I grew tired of watching Ramona, Sonja, Luann, and Dorinda get drunk, p*ss or sh*t on themselves, and pass men around. How many times do we have to endure that? I would've been fine with Dorinda and Luann joining the new crew though, but RHONY needed to seriously look and feel like NY--diverse and cosmopolitan.

Crazily, I am becoming more and more in favor of reboots with new casts.

I don't think this new reboot with Porsha and Phaedra on ATL is going to give as people think it will. I will tune in, but Porsha and Phaedra have never been alphas, as they are too secretive and lie too much. This is why you need a Kandi, Nene, or Kenya to steer the boat. All three of them are great captains (for different reasons), who know how to spark enough interest to get people somewhat interested. If this season is a dud, I'll be begging for a total reboot.

With NJ, I don't even want a NJ reboot. Just wrap the show up with a pretty bow and leave it alone. If Housewives is still on in about 5-10 years, go back and revisit it like Miami. Otherwise, leave it alone. I'd prefer for them to do a NOLA Housewives with Tamica and Reagan from Southern Charm NOLA. Or go to Santa Barbara or Vegas. Jaq (of NJ) has already said she'd love to produce and find women for the Vegas show.

I agree, I don't know if it just a case of being overhyped or setting expectations too high, but that was not interesting.  And it was not even close to the RHoSLC/Reality Von Tease reveal.  Both were cases of information that was unknown, but in the scheme of things not really a big deal.  However, the Salt Lake women really made it an event, and Monica was such a good antagonist.

Theresa is just not very smart or witty.  I don't care if her husband is a con. She used up all of her good will from her prison sentence, when it became obvious that she never felt contrition because she is a sociopath.  And she is not entertaining due to the fact that her only retort is from the “I'm rubber, you're glue” book of humor.

Phaedra is good TV in limited doses but being a regular I don't know about. I watched some of the Traitors this past season, and again, she had fun moments, but I couldn't watch a lot of it because she felt very bitter and toxic, including making some extremely ugly allegations about a competitor just because he went against her in the game.

That's Phaedra at her core. When you don't comply with what she wants, she goes for the jugular and tries to destroy you. We saw her attempt to do that with Nene, Kandi, and Kenya, which led to her eventual demise. She can never fight a little dirty. She has to get covered in mud and then buckles down on lying despite footage showing her doing stuff.

She only ran back to RHOA b/c the women of M2M allegedly ran her off their show, so she had to return to the "Titanic" (her words).

Phaedra has NEVER been good TV to me... except for when she got exposed at the season 9 reunion for the r*pe rumors she started against Kandi. Watching her demise was a thing of beauty.

    • I was watching some August 1987 episodes and they brought back so many memories. I had some thoughts: Lisa and Jamie were so dull. Lisa was such a nothing character. It boggles my mind that so much story was centered around her in such a short amount of time. Joanna Going is a talented actress, but the material was just not there.  It was so good to see Wallingford and Mitch again. I know there was talk about Felicia a while back, but these episodes reminded me how integral Felicia was for the show.  Sally Spencer was done so dirty. She is turning in superb performances in an icky storyline. I wish she had stuck around longer. She has chemistry with everyone. The McKinnons should have lasted longer. Spencer had some strong stuff with Stephen Schnetzer and Mary Alexander. AW waster such a talented actress by getting rid of her. Justice for Cheryl too. I also missed Ed Fry when he left. Sandra Ferguson was a star from the moment she came on. She was charismatic and just popped. She had immediate chemistry with RKK and blended in well with Wyndham and Watson. I'd forgotten about the teenage Matthew.  I have no memory of Peggy Lazarus. She must not have lasted long. Was the original plan for John that he was going to turn out to be the twins' real father?
    • If the new and improved copies that @rsclassicfanforever has uploaded can be manually moved into the "by month, by year" folders, that would be awesome. I personally don't think it's necessary to keep the older versions (which either have Dutch subtitles hard coded on them, or are lesser in picture quality). That's a lot of valuable drive space that could be cleared. Just my view but can appreciate others may feel differently. The structure had been by month by year previously, so I think it would be easier to conform to that, where so much prior work to get it to that format has already been done. Hopefully you can "drag and drop" so the new copies are in the right month/year? Re Clips, I never look at them now we pretty much have the episodes in full. Appreciate others may use, however. Thanks for all your hard work here @BoldRestless!
    • Oh yes defintely, Josh Griffith repeats and repeats the same storylines.
    • Isnt’t this storyline similar to the Cameron Kirsten situation though? Sharon thought she killed him. He ended up being alive and Sharon was being tormented with thinking she was seeing his face everywhere and that’s how we got that iconic scene with her and Nikki in the sewers.   I understand in Mariah’s case this is different circumstances but it does seem like a play on that whole thing. Maybe I’m wrong. I just wish if they were going to make any character follow in Sharon’s foot steps it would be Faith. Mariah wasn’t even raised by her, and her personality is different. I would expect her to take a different path. I understand I could be completely jumping ahead because the storyline hasn’t even played out yet but we’ll see.
    • Thanks again @Paul Raven Monica was completely without redeeming qualities at this point. I always found the whole Monica = Carly narrative regressive, as I don't think shows comparing characters so heavily is ever a great idea, but she's actually worse than Carly was. Was it the Pollocks who had Leslie have a miscarriage?  Giving her a child, especially by rape, was not a good idea, but a part of me wishes they'd committed to it just to see what story it might have had in later years.
    • @janea4old Your detailed explanation and delving into the psychology and motivations is no doubt the opposite of what we will see onscreeen. As @ranger1rg stated we will get a few scenes and some sketchy explanations. Like the adoption of Aria, most of it will take place off screen.
    • I'm suddenly fearful that DAYS is going to pull a Flowers-for-Algernon stunt and Bo's progress will be reversed.  While @te. is stuck on Abe's tiny bedroom, I can't stop thinking of the size of Bo's huge hospital room.
    • Okay, why are Paulina and Abe sleeping like that?!  I'd take a screen grab if I wasn't lazy, but come on.
    • All caught up on this week's episodes. Deidre Hall has done the best work of her career with this series of episodes. That is her tribute to Drake. Every acting choice has been perfect. From her reaction the moment John flatlined, to her snapping at Abe and Paulina (what a smart, realistic writing choice), to her grief playing the text message over and over. Josh Taylor did the best work of his career in the scene with Kayla telling him John had died. Everything about his facial expression, voice, pronunciation, everything was so different from what he usually does. He was overcome with the emotion of it and any of his acting tics disappeared. Peter Reckell and Kristian Alfonso were great. One thing I noticed with the flashbacks of John/Marlena and Bo/Hope is that Bo and Hope are constantly smiling at each other. The chemistry those two have cannot be faked. It's clear the writing team decided to clean up Bo and Hope and give fans a happy ending for them, neatly wrapped up in a bow. The juxtaposition of Bo and Hope reclaiming their happiness thanks to John, while Marlena is dealt life's harshest blow from John's sacrifice, was another great writing choice. Marlena even saying that to Eric, that she is paying for Bo's recovery with John's life, was such smart writing. Susan Seaforth Hayes was used very effectively between the two storylines. I really enjoyed the scene of Kate talking to Philip, calmly stating that she will make Xander pay. Overall, the show should be lining these episodes up for the Emmys and Deidre should be carefully choosing her scenes for her own reel. She deserves a Best Actress Emmy for this work. The first time I have felt that way about her work. Peter Reckell should submit himself for Guest for the scenes where he found out Victor is dead because he was genuinely heartbreaking. Josh Taylor should throw his name down for Supporting Actor for his scenes. The show deserves a Writing and Best Show for what they've done with the episodes around John and Bo. It was heavy stuff and I feel for the actors. I am so impressed with what they did.
