Jill is indeed the one who had the big feud with Bethenny. Jill is also the one whose made every housewives life (aside from her lap dog Countess LuAnn) a living hell at the Reunions. Jill is a histrionic, delusional, nasty, tactless piece of garbage who mows over anyone in her path. She is humorless, a demented bitch and a total liar.

Alex is a whiner and a social climber who meddled in everyone else's business, all while claiming to be using "her voice". The one thing I'll give Alex is that she always owned up to her nonsense and provided logical, cogent arguments.

Kelly is mentally ill and a liar and does not belong on television. She belongs in a mental ward.

Ramona, LuAnn and Sonja all have their mean streaks and all have their fun sides too. They are three dimensional.

Two seasons ago some of the wives went on a trip aboard a yacht to the Caribbean with Ramona. Kelly suffered, in my medical opinion (though not a psychiatrist), a psychotic breakdown. She literally unhinged before our very eyes over the course of three episodes. You really have to see it to believe it. The episodes have been dubbed "Scary Island"...

That's fascinating. Did they hint what was done that wasn't shown?

Was this a surprise to viewers, or had she always been unstable?

Was Bethenny just like driven from the show? I have sometimes read that she was treated badly. When she was on that Martha Stewart Apprentice she was overbearing but she never seemed like a bad person.

The cast collectively said that Kelly snapped, was flown out of the Caribbean by the producers and went into seclusion for a week or two. Kelly, at the Reunion, claimed that it was "systematic bullying" which was the biggest load of crap I've ever heard, the women actually showed a lot of compassion and calm as she unhinged herself, especially Sonja.

It didn't strike me as a surprise, but then I look at people a little differently given my training, I notice cues. Kelly screams of instability and narcissism.

Bethenny quit out of her own volition, she was not driven out of the show, Ramona and Alex were very solid friends with her by the end of the season, which drove Jill mad with jealousy.

Why the hell wasnt Cindy fired? She has nothing to offer. I wish they kept Alex bc she's the only one on the list I like. Kelly most defiently needed to be dropped.

I cant stand Taylor and Im love how Lisa has no patience for her. She was ridiculous confronting Lisa about Ken's opinion with the way she kept pressing it. Im glad Lisa shut her down. I also loved her skiing outfit. She looked cute

Yay, Faye Resnick is back! I wanted her to be a housewife but I hope she continues to appear sporadically throughout the season

LOL - I just watched the 2nd BH episode... all I can say is KIM! Kim is a riot - she had to have been on speed or something. When she arrived at the airport and was just plain crazy :D She will be fun to watch, even though we know it's most likely due to drugs of some sort.

A part of me feels bad for Taylor, especially after seeing that last scene in the hot tub. She's dying to say something about the abuse, but is afraid. I really like Kyle too - she is just a good friend. She knows she has to create a little drama for show, but deep down I really think she's a smart, good person.

Camille is boring now, but I really loved that Colorado home of hers!

Lisa is coming across as a bitch, and not in a good way. Its like she was forced to go on that trip, and was miserable the entire time. I wish she'd go back to being fun Lisa!

    • I very much liked office Cleary and the actress who portrayed her (as you say, Mary Peterson).  A shame her turn didn't evolve into a contract role.   BTW, does anyone know the timeframe/years that Betty Rae served as casting director?  If i understand correctly, she not only led the effort for contract roles, but also for shorter 13- and 26-week roles.  IMO, GL had LOTS of very well-casted, limited roles, too. I'm surprised the actors throughout the soap industry, and especially P&G actors, have not assembled a book or something similar, praising Rae.  Each actor could write a few paragraphs or a page of text describing his or her experience.
    • No. Ruth had an extramarital affair with David while married to Joe.
    • I'm not sure I agree with Bernstein's children on that. Bernstein's life and activism here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leonard_Bernstein#Social_activism_and_humanitarian_efforts
    • Thursday & Friday's episodes were excellent. The build-up was most definitely worth the wait (2 months). TMG, I can't give her enough accolades. AM, was also absolutely incredible. I think the fallout is going to have a ripple effect. The little clues that have been dropped,  hopefully, will weave seamlessly to reveal even bigger bombshells for the Dupree's and Martin.
    • Thanks, msn drives me nuts on the one hand but on the other hand their headlines appeal to me. And, I just don't do FoxNews.
    • The link doesn't work.  The actual link is this: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/composer-leonard-bernstein-s-children-request-his-music-be-played-in-the-kennedy-center-in-rebuke-to-trump/ar-AA1E7gw5 That's a reprint of a FoxNews article. MSN reprints stuff from many sources. You can tell the source from the logo above the headline on the msn page. The FoxNews article is describing what Leonard Bernstein's children wrote -- as a "letter to the editor" of the New York Times. Instead of reading it filtered through FoxNews, here is the original: "Our Dad, Leonard Bernstein, Would Want His Music Played at the Kennedy Center" https://www.nytimes.com/2025/05/02/opinion/kennedy-center-leonard-bernstein-protest.html Non-paywall archived copy of the same NYTimes letter, without commentary: https://archive.is/QaLqD
    • Might be a long shot, because I can't find a thing online about it, but I was Googling the actress that played Nell Cleary (Frank's cop friend that went through academy and then became cops together during the entire Brent Lawrence storyline). To my surprise, she passed away in 2011, at the very young age of 45. I can't find her obituary or anything online about her passing, but I'm curious, does anyone know what happened? Her IMDB only shows a few other acting gigs post-Guiding Light, so she didn't make a career out of it, but I thought she was a great actress in her role as Cleary. Her name was Mary Peterson.
    • What was Ruth Martin's association to the Thornton family?  I only remember the daughter that dated Tad, and she had a buxom mother.  But, did Ruth date David Thorton before Joe?

Why didn't Steve respect Monica and Jeff's decision?  I get he's Jeff's father, and that's how it came out, but I don't like the ethics of the story. A stranger gets to make life or death decisions over a wife's demands?   I hope Monica secretly never forgave Steve's chauvinism.
    • Question: Jon-Michael Reed's review of 1977 is up in the retro soap section.  It includes a fleeting reference to comedic scenes between Jeanne Cooper and Julianna McCarthy regarding “Kay's would-be beau, Ralph the Plumber”.  Could someone please fill me in will more details? I forgot that Kay and Liz were friendly before Jill stole Kay's husband.  And the thought of Liz playing a comedic scene blows my mind, because I only recall her being dour both in demeanor and wardrobe.
