thats a pretty balanced month

Pratt sucked in so many ways, but he definitely had the show a little more balanced with cast use than McTavish and B&E. This is definitely how a end of month count should look. The person with the most episodes was only on 4 out of 5 days (a week), etc.

The trend appears to exit with Pratt in February big-time. I'm hoping it reappears in March though. Not Pratt, lol, but the better balance.

I agree. The balance has always been decent under him. Feb is dominated by a few people eh Angela? Damn. I can just imagine the top 3 will read Greenlee, Ryan, Erica.

Yes. Greenlee, David, Ryan and possibly Erica look like they may be in every episode for that month.

The rest of the non-related cast/storylines will go to a 2-day a week like schedule.

I think they may settle down and return to better balance in March with the returns, etc.

When the comparison is Alicia Minshew or Cameron Mathison in 22/22 episodes 9 out of 12 months a year... then yeah, this is more balanced.

GH and AMC are soaps where the top 4-5 are usually in all but 1-3 episodes (and yes all too often ZERO) a month regularly. This count for January is almost CBS Daytime like compared to how the counts usually look.

JL led for December too(she was in all but 1 episode too), and she's just in less episodes for January than December.

This isn't really anything that new in regards to balance. Next month I think Greenlee will be in every single episode, they sure seem to be promoting Feb. sweeps as "Greenlee month"

The thing is you were arguing that it wasn't at the least better balanced a few posts ago, therefore the responses.

It was a soft over 90 percent for Luner in December. Soft almost like when Jesse is on a lot in a month. There was no overpowering emphasis on Liza story. She popped up for supporting material (this ones lawyer) about half the time.

Poof! So sad. In all this moving/not moving talk, Ray MacDonnell got shafted. I hope they at least gave him a retirement party off screen. Even though this seemed more of a forced retirement.

Nope, no farewell party. All they said was that they were moving to Florida to retire. I believe the Anniversary episodes were their last taped scenes on the show. A farewell party would have been nice...I remember reading that RM would be open to making guest appearances on the show every now and then in the future, though.

I don't see how this could have been a forced retirement. He's almost 82 years old, he was born and raised on the East Coast, he hasn't done any other screen acting besides AMC since the show began, he's almost 82 years old, he probably doesn't want to fly back and forth every time they'll "need" him, he's almost 82 years old, etc. I'm positive the parting was nothing less than his own decision.
