Oh wow. If Lynn Latham could get rehired after Y&R that speaks volumes. She is one who wants total control on all the shows she's done. She fired people on Knots Landing and Y&R just for disagreeing with her on storylines. Contructive criticism. This could be HUGE! I can't wait!!!

I don't really know what Happens on Night Time TV, but I just don't think that's True about Lynn Marie Latham Firing Actors on Knots Landing. I have Never Heard of Any Actors being Fired because the Writer on Their Show Fired Them. They Never had William Peterson was Fired from CSI because The Writer Fired Him. They didn't have Margarite Haragay or I forgot his Name of the Man had the Writer Fire Them from Law And Order: Special Victims Unit. I know I got her Name Wrong. Sorry about That. Actually, I think Sara Bibel used to be A Writer on All My Children. Also, I have Read that She is Very Upset about how Soap Operas are now so I wouldn't think She would Report that Lynn Marie Latham was going to be the Next Head Writer on All My Children. Yeah her style is more ABC, but with a twist. She's very plot driven, but she is also very politically correct so expect them to tone down the glamour. She prefers to tell stories in two week blocks, then move onto other stories. She did rotate the cast pretty regularly, but only because her stories were so short. She'd mention something and revisit it two or three months later only to wrap it up quickly. The only good thing I can say is that she did seem to love writing for the minorities on Y&R. Dru was front and center in particular.

It Felt like All she did was to have Amber with Carson and Plum and then She also had Gloria on Nearly Every Day. A Story They can do on All My Children is to have David Hayward Stalk Angie because She Killed Greenlee. She Told him that She was Sick and She Tried to Save Her, but He Followed her around and Haunted her Anyway. Erica and Krystal got in A Fight because Krystal had Kept her Granddaughter away from Her. Angie Tried to Break Up the Fight, but Angie Fell Off the Cliff. They had 2 Women who Hate Each Other were having the Fight and Dru Tried to Break Up the Fight and Fell Off the Cliff. Dru kept trying to come back on Young and Restless, but her Daughter on there did not want her to come back and Neither did Jack Abbot. Jack Abbot is Played by Peter Bergman who was Cliff. They Tried to have Angie and Cliff be A Couple, but Angie Left and Cliff or rather Peter Bergman went to The Young And The Restless. Jody

Yes, She did. She didn't know what to do with him. He was A Stalker, Business Man, Campaign Manager, Gambler and then was with the Mafia. He Mainly Stood There. Somebody said that He was Underplaying the Scenes and They Like that Better than him being over The Top when he is David Hayward. However, I Like David Hayward Better. After the succession of dreadful HWs on AMC I think it's doubtful long time fans will be pleased with the new HW. The fact that Frons viewed Pratt as it's savior speaks for itself. I think it's very likely that he IS talking to people like McTavish and LML who we don't wanna hear about, but it's a real possibility. I don't think any Y&R fan would truly wish LML on anybody, but it would speak volumes about how out of touch Frons is. OLTL got lucky with the self-promotion because he's not about to spend money on hiring a big name hack for OLTL.

Latham already did a terrible job on Port Charles, but she still got hired to helm the #1 soap. It's not an outrageous idea that Frons would pick her up. On paper most of her stories were interesting on Y&R, it was the piss poor execution that killed her. The lack of plotting, the lack of planning. The primetime episodes structure. It was a nightmare. Would probably make Pratt look good, but I do think she'd pull out some good episodes here and there. But it's not a primetime show so 22 good episodes out of 250 is nothing to get excited about.

I'm hoping they can completely turn AMC around since ABC is clearly trying to save it. If they get a good HW and EP then the show has a chance with this move. The ratings tend to be higher than the other two ABC soaps. It's just hard to be too optimistic given the past mistakes. The fact that the show won't be getting a new EP already speaks volumes. Carruthers is a major reason the show is so bad. And let's not forget that hack worked with LML the entire time she was on Port Charles. This actually makes perfect sense..

Port Charles is Brian Frons Favorite Soap. That's why He keeps Pushing General Hospital. I don't think She would be worse than Charles Pratt. That has more to do, I think, w/ KNOTS being less "glamorous" than the others. Even as the production values became more excessive, as you say, and the stories became more about corporate intrigue, David Jacobs, the show's creator and show-runner, still kept the emphasis on three-dimensional characters. If you watched DALLAS and DYNASTY, you did so for the clothes and the outrageous behavior; and if you watched FALCON CREST, it was b/c you got a big kick out of seeing past-their-prime movie stars (which that show employed a lot of); but if you watched KNOTS, it was generally b/c, you enjoyed good, old-fashioned, character-driven storytelling. Period.

Of course, it was purely coincidental that this occurred when Nicollette Sheridan was on ABC's newest obsession, "Desperate Housewives". ;-)

It was when she joined the show. Before the WB took it away from Joseph Dougherty, though, HB was like a 20-something version of "thirtysomething." Frank South, his successor, was brought in to "MELROSE PLACE-ize" it. He did, but obviously, he wasn't successful.

What history?! There's no history on AMC beyond 2003-04 anymore. Getting rid of the few remaining vets (aside from La Lucci, of course) took care of that. So, in a way, it's like a blank slate, which is perfect for someone like LML.
