Yeah, ugh.

So undeserved, Y&R has some of the worst day to day writing on daytime, yet alone some of the worst storylines of the past year.

What did they submit?

Well, if it's any consolation, Latham won the WGA Award for her last year at Y&R too, and like this current era of Y&R, I don't know many who would consider that era of Y&R a high point for the show.

But I'm happy for Janice Ferri Esser, Eric Freiwald, Natalie Minardi Slater, Melissa Salmons, Linda Schreiber, and James Stanley.

The rest of that "writing team" however, can f*ck off...

Tommie Cas isn't on that list. Blasphemy! He never went fi-core.

But he does suck ass!

Y&R always seems to win this award with writing regimes that are awful. I mean, they won in Latham's last year, and in Smith's last year (which looks like gold now, but was pretty uneven back then).

Also, need I remind anyone that Jean Passanante and her team won last year?

Probably that Colleen dream episode? That mess had award bait stamped on it.

It's Sheffer ATWT all over again. Increasingly rotgut product that ruins everything the show is meant to be, yet has one or two moments for the critics to swoon over.

According to Sara A. Bibel, these were the episodes Y&R submitted:

The Y&R team chose Chloe and Billy’s wedding (April 3, 2009), the episode that Marge narrated when her body was exhumed (March 26, 2009), and the episode where Colleen has visions of her loved ones visiting her as she drowns (September 16, 2009).

I knew that awful Colleen episode would be in there somewhere.

Marge's episode was also blatant bait.

So it's two by Ferri and one by Connor? Or I didn't see correctly?

The sad thing is, this win with those episodes will probably encourage more death, more half-assed pairings with no chemistry, and more stunts.

Y&R is doomed, but I don't care anymore. At least I know the people responsible for its creative demise when the show goes off the air in a few years.

The fact that Y&R won with a Lisa Connor episode, who sucks serious ass and has since she joined, should tell you something...

Her episodes are some of the most wonky, poorly structured, stilted in dialogue and movement pieces of crap I've ever seen. And it's consistent with her, so I know its her writing style and she's not just doing it because of "bad storylines."
