Members JONNYSBRO
I keep thinking I know this will not happen. If ABC ever cancels OLTL, it would be a great companion on NBC with DAYS. I think that would be a great combo that would work together. Could you ever see OLTL on NBC?
Members bellcurve
Well, at least you're over your Ellen Wheeler fetish.
Members Y&RWorldTurner
Um, except, ABC owns OLTL outright and if they cancel it, why would they sell it to a competitor and make less money from it?
Members brimike
People really need to stop paying attention to things Nelson Branco says in his columns...
Members All My Shadows
I don't see any soaps network-hopping, and if they do anything of the sort, it'll be like what PSNS did. With the three networks each losing one soap over the last few years and replacing them with non-soap programming, I don't think any of them are particularly interested in bringing more soaps on board. I'm sure they're interested in maintaining what they have, but I don't think they want more of it.
Members marceline
PREACH! This is the same guy who said that AMC was planning to bring on ME, TSJ and "the Kish boys" when OLTL is canceled. I'm ALL for fanfic. I studied it, write it, read it, and love it. But don't pass it off as reporting.
Members TC
Some of us mistake soap reporting for journalism. No. Just no. It never was.
Members DRW50
There were some very good soap reporters at one time, I think Soap Opera Weekly had a number of them during the 90s. That's all gone now. Instead we have Branco or Daytime Confidential.
Members TC
it was fun, and in depth about a cult genre, but it was never journalism. To expect journalism standards from soap reporting is laughable to me. When they finally die we might saee something approaching it, but then again probably not since most real journalism is dead anyway.
