GH, prior to the HD switch, had always had an outdated/bland look. Believe it or not, during her first few years at GH, Jill actually tried to improve the overall production, some sets were remodeled (like Sonny's penthouse) and the overall directing got infinitely better. It actually seemed like an upgrade from the Wendy Riche era aesthetically, and I love Riche. I think the switch to HD prompted the production staff at GH to really step up their game, and they really did.
