I didnt. I knew it was fake to a degree but I didnt realize it was THAT fake. I didnt realize they actually had a fake set that they filmed on. I thought the cameras followed them around as they "acted" out the scenes. Im surprised they ended it like that though, especially with The City still on the air

I'm assuming they shot at REAL locations and REAL houses. To build a set would require MTV to spend money, something they didn't want to do when they developed these "reality shows." I just think they added that backdrop at the end as a symbolic reminder of how fake it all was.

It didnt end saying it was fake.

It was a wink and a nod to the fact that [people say it is scripted and acted out, because it isnt. they dont film ona soundstage and it isnt really scripted, its reenacted/heightened and improved drama, lol. They do not follow them and film them all the time, they have scheduled days and what not and the cast knows whats expected of them on those days.

They have had specials over the years tht talk about this. On a recent one they said at Sepidis wedding they had Lauren hidden in a basement preschool room and Kristen hidden next to her in another room so nobody would know they were both there, and the reaction shots to them walking in are all real because nobody knew they were coming (and at that point they all realized Kristen was taking over, and thats why Audrina hated her so much at first cuz she thought she would become the new star)

It left on a "what was real and what wsnt real" note. it leaves you wondering.

And wow, the finale numbers were great. MTV's highest rated show ever?!

Thank for JP. I was going to say something like you said above, but it wouldn't of sounded as clear. They even addressed this on the last "After Show" with Brody saying the ending symbolized how the audience would never know what was fake and what was real and they had to leave it up to their own interpretations.

god, i know. they really neeed to dump whit/rox or bring steph in to shake them up and focus more on olivia/erin, because thats where its at! and the cute little gay assistant, seth? love him!

her and spencer were fired for threating a prodcuers life. i believe their contracts were broken and they were not paid after their last apperance, and i think the producer and maybe mtv are suing them.

heidi and audrina both thought they would take over the show and/or get a spin off, both r pissed. audrina even had it drafted into her contract and they filmed the show but i doubt mtv is gonna pick it up and air it, lol.

Speaking of Spencer, have you guys SEEN what he looks like now? It's much worse than anyone could imagine.

I would absolutely love Steph Pratt to be on The City. I have ALWAYS absolutely loved her and she's f.ucking so gorgeous. Too bad she squashed those rumours on The AfterShow.

Oh wow, I didnt know about all that. I hope they do get sued. Stupid pricks.

Audrina needs to sit her ass down somewhere. No one wants to see this stuff continue. The City is lucky it even exists. No need for another

She is SO pretty. That is plastic surgery done right.

I wouldnt count her out of The City, kristen also shot down rumors before announcing she was coming to the hills (aka, holding out for more money). However, she is very LA and her new boyfriend is a total bmxer type and does a lot of training here as well, so idk.

She is just too borring and they people on her own show are just as boring.

Olivia makes the city.

    • Thanks @P.J. If my math is correct, Jordan Clarke runs were 1983-1987, 1989-1993, 1997-end.
    • I was/am mainlining both the Dream Season and Season 7 of KL together, since that was the year of their big creative swap. That's the most I can take of Dallas consecutively. But I've been very preoccupied with other shows and work IRL and I need to get back to it after a long break from my Knots binge.
    • Wk 1 95/96 MSW moves to Thurs, Cybill takes the Sunday slot. Thurs 8-9pm NBC Friends #3 20.5/33 The Single Guy #6 19.2/30 CBS Murder She Wrote #55 9.3/15 ABC Charlie Grace #74 7.6/12 FOX Living Single # 78 7.2/12 The Crew #80 7.0/11 Sunday 8-9pm NBC Mad about You # 15 14.6/23 Hope & Gloria #35 11.7/18 ABC Lois & Clark # 38 11.4/18 CBS Cybill #49 9.8/15 Almost Perfect #65 8.1/12 FOX Space Above & Beyond (2nd hr of 2hr episode) #51 9.5/15 60 Minutes was #19 so a lot of viewers didn't stay for Cybill. On Sunday, Sept. 24, CBS finished third on the night, and its performance among 18 -49 year olds was worse than it was with the older skewing Murder, She Wrote in the time period last year.  So moving MSW was a foolish move at that point. It was compatible with 60 Minutes and would probably have finished Top 20-25 for the week. They should have left Sunday alone and concentrated on other nights..
    • I’ve been watching Knots and FC rather compulsively for a while now. Currently in fall 1983 with both. I had Dallas in there, too, but I am rather shocked at how stale that show gets after Jock’s death. Meanwhile, I can spend hours in the vineyards and in the cul-de-sac.
    • What will actually change though? Does this mean the sets will be different too? Or how exactly is this gonna look like to the viewers?
    • I'm not sure Passions is the model to emulate here.
    • Passions had Chad sleeping with his cousin nephew Vincent, ironically played by Daphne Duplaix (disguised as Valerie)

    • @Errol confirmed JFP is back in a non-producing role.
    • Same tbh. His brother got all the attention as he got older and hotter but Eric I like best. I need to get back to this show.
    • *watching season 5* Me: “I wish they did more with Eric, he’s so cute and sweet.” *Eric slaps the piss out of Diana* Me: “Godddddd, I love Eric!!!!”
