The Suds Report: Sept. 25, 2009

By Nelson Branco in Los Angeles

‘One Life’ goes after ‘GL’ audience: Tognoni re-joins as Kelly; Dorian weds a lesbian! Also: John Brotherton fired? More ‘Y&R’ “black” drama! ‘Big Bro’s Jordan and Jeff on ‘B&B’! Did ‘DAYS’ Carly kill Lawrence?

SUDSIEST QUOTES OF THE WEEK:

“Once every three months I get to show up to support other storylines. I have a contract until 2010 and that’s exactly when I started on As the World Turns 50 years ago. I hope the producers will let Lisa die. A beautiful, exciting storyline and then an ending where everyone will be talking about. That would make me very happy, but I doubt it will happen. I've presented story ideas before, but they were just pushed aside. They might find me difficult, but they don't have the nerve to fire me either.”

—Eileen Fulton (Lisa, World Turns)

Translation: Put me out of my misery, Chris Goutman! I’m a cabaret star, damn it! With my luck, instead of killing me off, Lisa will have grief sex with Damian or recast me with Erin Hershey!

“That made me sound so arrogant. Like, all of a sudden I’ve become so expensive? No, none of that was true. We had been in talks for a while about my coming back to the show. They were interested. I was interested. But it was a timing thing. Talks just sort of slowed down, and other [potential] soap opportunities came in, but it all worked out in the end. It was a nice courtship.”

—Llanview’s Gina Tognoni in TV Guide Magazine regarding her high-noon negotiations with One Life

Translation: Playing hard ball got Mama paid — thanks Y&R and B&B!

EMMY CENTRAL

What we can learn from the amazing Primetime Emmys

1. Break up the categories into genres

2. Hire Neil Patrick Harris, who can clearly walk on water, even if it’s on the moon, to host. Or Rosie O’Donnell. Or the women of The View (they’d promote the crap out of the kudofest).

3. Bring back the In Memoriam with a talented soap star singing an appropriate song (this is where Vanessa Williams’ singing could have come in handy this past year).

4. With daytime hiring vets for 13 weeks in stunt roles, NATAS needs to introduce guest star categories. But don’t blame Academy officials, it’s the drama community/wing that has declined in previous years when NATAS has pitched this much-needed category. Think about it, morons — there will be 10 more nominees in the acting field.

5. Like Harris and Fillion’s Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog segment, ask Imaginary Bitches’ Andrew Miller and Eden Riegel to air something similar during the show.

EMMY NEWS

NATAS in turmoil as Frank Radice resigns!

Say it ain’t so: Beloved NATAS President Frank Radice has resigned!

Radice said, “It was due to significant differences between myself and management.”

Having held the position for a year, Radice’s most notable accomplishments included buttering up ATAS (the two rival academies have been feuding for years in court and in the press) and working closely with ATI to ensure the 36th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards aired.

“I am proud of what we accomplished this past year,” Radice said. “From the daytime show, the partnership with ATI, to the funding of the Jim McKay scholarship, to the video blogs. All in all, a great year.”

The Suds Report wishes Radice’s replacement all the best because he’ll be a tough act to follow. Radice is a true believer in the Daytime Emmys. Also, because of Radice’s marketing and promotion skills and history, the telecast managed to get sponsorship in a very tough economic year — and he was also forging relationships for next year.

THE IDIOT RATINGS — Sept 14-18, 2009

GL finale does remarkably well!

The full Nielsen Ratings haven’t all materialized yet, but Suds Report called a few our favourite producers to find out what GL’s finale did. The last week in Springield reportedly netted 1.9 overall! Not bad, huh? Also, although fans are livid over Y&R’s decision to kill off legacy character, Colleen, the top soap earned a 3.6! And GH nabbed third place with a 2.1! Preliminary results suggest that most of the soaps increased their numbers. Get the full list in Soapgeist on Monday.

MEET & GREET

Mike Gold’s Unveils Soap Stars Live & Unscripted in Detroit

Soap Opera fans get ready for an experience of a lifetime! Enjoy two days of super-soap star immersion on Oct. 10 and 11 as 14 top actors from AMC, One Life, GH, Y&R and DAYS gather at Detroit’s Historic Masonic Temple. Most soap fans only view their heartthrobs on the small screen, fantasizing about their favourite characters and the real person behind the persona. Soap Stars Live & Unscripted offers fans a once in a lifetime opportunity to get to know the stars in ways they’d never dreamed possible … For ticket information and the itinerary visit ticketmaster.com.

Who: Cameron Mathison, Melissa Claire Egan, Walt Willey, Darnell Williams, Chrishell Stause, John Brotherton, Mark Lawson, Bree Williamson, Natalia Livingston, Brandon Barash, Greg Vaughan, Christian LeBlanc, Nadia Bjorlin, James Scott, and American Idol’s Matt Giraud.

All My Children, A/ABC — Turning Aiden out! Riegel in talks with AMC?

• Putting an end to one of the biggest waste of talents and one of the most ill-conceived characters in AMC’s history, SOAPnet.com confirmed rumours that Aiden Turner was fired. ABC said, “Mr. Turner’s departure is storyline-dictated. Given AMC’s upcoming move to Los Angeles, we wanted to give Mr. Turner advance notice so he could plan accordingly. Mr. Turner is a talented actor and we wish him well.” Sources close to the actor said he was already house-hunting in L.A. Will ABC throw Turner a bone and cross him over to GH as Robin Scorpio’s relative? The U.K. sweetheart last airs Nov. 6.

• If “all those homeless AMCers” need a place to crash, Emmy winner Eden Riegel has a couch for you to crash on, she jokes to Suds. “It’s a big transition for everybody. I can’t imagine moving cross country at a drop of a hat,” Riegel says. Hey, it’s all her fault. Riegel wished in the press recently that AMC would tape in L.A. Damn it, Eden, why didn’t you wish on making us millionaires instead?!

Riegel informs Suds that she’s been busy taking a variety of acting and improv classes to keep her acting muscles tight. What a concept! Riegel is one of the most talented actors daytime has ever given birth to and yet she’s still committed to being better. Did you hear that hair models?

Meanwhile, here’s some good news: Suds is hearing that AMC is indeed interested in bringing back Riegel. Whew. Also, Brian Frons is going to move heaven and earth to lure back Rebecca Budig if it kills him. Heck, I think Frons moved AMC to L.A. so he can have Budig back on his network!

• When the hell did Jacob Young become so damn mature? A few weeks ago, the Emmy winner sounded off on ABC’s insensitive decision not to inform its cast and crew about possibility that the show may be moving to L.A. In this week’s Digest and Weekly, Young gives two thoughtful and brave interviews about his cancer storyline. Regarding why he shaved his hair, the formerly vain star tells Digest, “You want this story to have some integrity and some body to it.” Young goes on to explain how much he has evolved as an actor and a human being. He recalls his “vain and wild” days when he starred on B&B and GH. Young isn’t so young, anymore. Nice.

As The World Turns, Global/CBS — Hubbard back on Dutch soap!

• Who needs Oakdale Part 3: Emmy-winning soap diva Elizabeth Hubbard will return to reprise her guest stint as Sair Poindexter on Dutch soap opera Geode Tijden, Slechte Tijden (Good Times, Bad Times) in December.

• Who is telling us the truth? Stuart Damon claims to Soap Opera Weekly that Lynn Herring’s casting had nothing to do with his Oakdale appointment. However, at the Creative Arts Awards, World Turns’ casting director Mary Clay Boland told Suds, “we cast Stuart on purpose because of Lynn’s casting, as a wink to the audience.” Ahhh, why is it always so arduous to get the truth from TeleNext/P&G?

• Is Forbes March deaf, blind and dumb? Of course, we’re kidding — we love March-erella, but the Canuck tells Soaps In Depth that there is no “melodrama [on the CBS set]. Chris Goutman runs a tight ship. There’s no Soapdish.” Um, except for the backstage feuding, sexual harassment, and extramarital affairs, that is.

The Bold and the Beautiful, CTV/CBS — Natalie’s worst nightmare!

• Another reason to hate On Air, On Soaps’ Michael Fairman: The journalist/reporter got to hang out with one of my favourite all-time reality TV couples, Big Brother’s Jeff and Jordan, on the set of B&B this past week. Jordo and Jeff taped an upcoming episode of the CBS serial which will air on Oct. 27. Can’t wait! Fairman interviewed the couple so look out for that.

• At Lucy Kilislian’s Candy Ice jewelry launch in Beverly Hills last night, Ashley Jones made an appearance. My eyebrows were raised when I saw that Jones was listed as a star from True Blood with nary a mention of her B&B status.

• According to Gina Tognoni, B&B wanted to cast her as a love interest for Jack Wagner! Of course, Tognoni ended up choosing One Life as her next daytime project.

Days of our Lives, Global/NBC — No. 1 in 18-34 Demo for 2008-09! Who did Carly murder?

• NBC is proud of Gary Tomlin! The lone network sudser released a press release stating that DAYS finished the year as No. 1 in the Women 18-34 demo! Nice work! Let’s see how Crystal Chappell’s Otalia fans will impact Salem’s ratings when she returns on Oct. 2!

• Chappell gives Digest the 411 on her return storyline in this week’s issue. She previews, “I was hoping they’d bring her back with some edge — and they have! Carly comes back having killed someone. She’s on the run and trying to protect somebody she loves very, very much — and it’s not Bo. Everything I read makes sense and is really good.”

The Suds Report has been briefed on the exact storyline — and we can happily report that the story sounds really good and is well-written — on paper, that is. So tune in, Otalia lovers and ex-DAYS fans!

Look for Chappell’s hubby, Michael Sabatino, to reprise his role on Oct. 5 for a short-term comeback.

• Quadrangle alert: Anyone else noticing chemistry between Wally Kurth and Kristian Alfonso? I am! And I like it. A lot.

• North Americans aren’t the only fans turning off their soaps in droves. If you live in New Zealand, then write into Television New Zealand to prevent the network from cancelling DAYS and Y&R. Both shows are scheduled for termination at the end of next month.

• Who was the most surprised when Suzanne Rogers returned to the supporting front burner? The Emmy winner herself! She tells Suds, “I still can’t believe I’m working so much! Gary Tomlin has really turned around the show. When I first came on DAYS, we weren’t making a lot of money, but we had great story, and I have to say that is the feeling right now.” So will Rogers put herself up for Supporting consideration for next year’s Emmys? “I don’t know,” muses the Salem matriarch. “I have some good material, I think. However, I’m the kind of person that thinks once you’ve won, it’s time to allow someone else to win, you know?” But listen if the producers put me up, I’ll be honoured. If they don’t, I will not submit my name.” Spoken like a true team player. As for why Maggie still resonates with viewers after all these years, Rogers maintains, “She’s a sassier version of Alice Horton! She can give the kids the hard truth!” When Suds mentioned that Rogers has single-handedly made Molly Burnett a better actor, she couldn’t disagree with us! “I think so, too! We have some wonderful scenes together. Maggie is the voice of reason!”

• Memo to Molly Burnett and Casey Jon Dietrich — we get it, you’re in love! Clearly, the two young lovebirds haven’t learned Hollywood’s big lesson: If you really love each other, don’t jinx it by talking about it ad nauseam.

General Hospital, CTV/A — Spixie didn’t wed! Anderson speaks!

• Sorry, Spixie fans — Spinelli and Maxi didn’t tie the knot. But that’s OK, according to Bradford Anderson, because the cute couple doesn’t break up. In fact, they become stronger for it.

The 2009 Emmy nominee and I caught up in La La Land and wished he had gotten in the soap game when it was lucrative and prospering. The charming and accidental soap star relays, “I love my job so much that I love the idea of being on it during the ‘80s and knowing that there were 30 years more of it at least. I can see myself being on GH for a lifetime, and that’s not to say we won’t be around for another 30 years … ” As for why the unlikely Spixie pairing resonates with fans, Anderson explains, “some viewers watch soaps for a complete getaway and that’s where these classic love stories come in. For a lot of people, Spixie works because they’re two completely different people who get each other and that’s a beautiful message.” Was it in character for Spinelli to propose to Maxi-mista? “He doesn’t want to lose her, so he’ll do anything to keep her. He still doesn’t know how relationships work yet. He’s still very new to the world of love,” he answers. Does Spinelli have Asperger syndrome? “I don’t know. I think it’s best we keep it undiagnosed because once we name it we have to deal with it seriously, and I’m not sure we’re ready to do that yet. But I’m game if GH decides to tell that story.” Who does he credit for his success? “Steve Burton, hands down. I wouldn’t be here without him. I think of him as my mentor.”

Me too, Bradford, me too!

• He’s no Stefan, but he’ll do. As Suds Report exclusively revealed a few weeks back, Matt Borlenghi is back on soaps. We can now reveal the role — Kelly Ripa’s former boy toy has been cast as Valentin Cassadine.

• At Lucy Kilislian’s Candy Ice launch last night, which Paris Hilton, along with a variety of other soap stars, also attended, The Suds Report ran into Josh Duhon. “I’m pretty happy for Julie Marie Berman’s Emmy win. She deserves it. She’s very talented,” he enthused. As for his career prospects, Duhon reports he’s producing a movie.

Guiding Light, Global/CBS — Last Rites

• Where was Crystal Chappell when GL aired its last episode? “Oddly enough, I was here [at DAYS] and watched it in my dressing room,” says Crystal Chappell of the final airing of the 72-year-old soap on Sept. 18. “It was heartbreaking. The whole week was heavy, though, but a very good week. You knew the show was coming to an end. Even though I knew it was coming, I wept when Alan died in such a noble way. I like that people had their happy endings. When Josh and Reva drove off in their pickup truck and they scrolled ‘The End’, it was like, ‘Oh my God!’ It was just devastating. So sad!”

• More feedback on GL’s disappointing finale from GLAAD. Read it here.

Meanwhile, Patrick Erwin weighs in on Springfield’s end game here, too.

• Top 10 things I hated about GL’s amateurish finale:

1. The fast-forward was lazy. Viewers want to see the journey, not the destination. Having Reva and Josh simply reunite without doing any of the work was another slap to the viewers.

2. A finale should have major suspense since anything can happen on a show’s last day, like the entire town exploding!

3. The episode felt like an hour-long Mormon/breeder commercial.

4. No kiss for Otalia. Was GL scared CBS would cancel their show? Otalia should have wed to illustrate how far TV and America has come in 72 years. Their lesbian wedding would have punctuated that fact — and made fans very happy. Oh, wait we wouldn’t want that, would we?

5. According to Ellen Wheeler, it’s not a happy ending if you’re not married and throwing Frisbees in parks.

6. GL maintained it wanted to tie up all the loose ends, but failed to include Jeffrey and Edmund in that objective.

7. Where were the in-studio scenes?

8. After convincing us that Shayne and Dinah were soulmates, GL switched their minds and reunited Shayne/Marina and Dinah/Mallet!

9. The finale basically taking place in a park. Couldn’t CBS have thrown GL some cash so they could tape Reva and Josh’s big reunion scene near an ocean or something? Finales usually go out with style!

10. I was dying for someone to utter this line: “Isn’t it weird that everyone in Springield is happy all of a sudden?” While I would have penned a happy ending, I would have made it realistic. To me, a happy ending doesn’t necessarily mean weddings, babies, and baseball games. To me, a happy ending means catharsis. It would have been nice to have seen these dysfunctional characters come to terms with their past, psychologies, and evolution as human beings. Other than Alan’s redemption/death, there was none of that, but I can’t say I’m surprised that these hacks wouldn’t see or understand that.

Runner-up: I thought having Y&R’s Christian LeBlanc and Jeanne Cooper at the double wedding took viewers out of the storyline. It was jarring and appeared self-serving on their part (by the way, the actors had to pay their own expenses to be a part of TV history).

Imaginary Bitches, imaginarybitches.com/You Tube — A very special episode!

• If you haven’t seen the Emmy-themed Imaginary Bitches episode, click here. It’s hilarious and extremely well-written.

One Life To Live, ABC — Carlivati’s a big gay Lord!

• Is Ron Carlivati going crazy again?! My jaw is still on the floor after reading Michael Logan’s shocking One Life scoopage earlier this week, which revealed that Dorian, in order to get the gay vote, pronounces herself a lesbian! If that’s not enough to make you worried about the future of One Life, Logan reports that to convince Llanview she’s a friend of Otalia, Dorian marries her black campaign manager, Amelia (formerly Mel’s reincarnation)! Also, in a groundbreaking move, with the cooperation of GLAAD, One Life will wed 20 gay couples on their show in a motivated attempt to challenge the gay marriage controversy in America. One of those couples walking down the aisle is Kyle and Nick! Will Fish stop the wedding in time? Here’s the spoiler Logan printed:

“Only in loopy Llanview! It looks like the outcome of that upcoming mayoral election on One Life to Live — the one pitting Viki (Erika Slezak) against her lifelong rival Dorian (Robin Strasser) — may very well hang on the local gay vote. To woo the support of the LGBT community away from Viki, Dorian will pretend to turn lesbian and marry her female campaign manager. Their nuptials, set to air Oct. 30 and Nov. 2, will be part of a mass group wedding of 22 same-sex couples. Kyle (Brett Claywell) plans to marry Nick (Nicholas Rodriguez) at this same event, while the man Kyle really loves, closeted cop Oliver (Scott Evans), is assigned to crowd control. Outraged by the anti-gay protestors, Oliver will publicly out himself. Will he also stop Nick and Kyle from saying ‘I do’?”

Click here to read an interview with Carlivati on the brave storyline and here for Robin Strasser’s thoughts! I wish I was a fly on the wall when One Life pitched the Emmy winner this plot twist!

• One Life had a lot of big news to share this week! Logan also announced that Emmy winner Gina Tognoni, who was being courted by Y&R and B&B, will indeed be reprising her role as Kelly Cramer this winter! “I am excited to welcome the extremely talented Gina Tognoni back to the role that launched her daytime career,” executive producer Frank Valentini shared in statement. “The role of Kelly is an important part of OLTL’s history and Gina's portrayal as a member of the spirited Cramer family has always been a fan favourite. She is a friend and I am thrilled to be working with her once again.” Tognoni begins taping in January. Although Dan Gauthier is also returning to One Life briefly, do not expect Kevin and Kelly’s paths to cross.

• Is Jared Jessica’s stalker? If he is, what a great twist! But that means we’re losing the sexy actor. Soap Opera Network is reporting John Brotherton has been released from his contract at One Life To Live. The Soap Opera Spirit Award winner has been in the role since 2007. His last airdate is unknown at this time. Hopefully, another soap will scoop up this talented and handsome star. He’d make an amazing Eric Brady recast on DAYS. Suds Report has heard that the very interested World Turns has already contacted the actor.

• Mick Hazen who? One of World Turns’s best younger actors, Daniel Manche, has been cast as one of Matthew Buchanan’s peers. He’s set to debut in mid-to-late October. Good work, One Life!

Venice, venicetheseries.com — Chappell and Leccia speak Venetian!

• The most powerful player on soaps, Crystal Chappell, gives Soap Opera Digest a Venice preview in this week’s issue. “The first 30 seconds [of the first episode], there’s a kiss between Ani and Gina. It’s very sexy,” teases the best actress on daytime TV. “I think Tina Sloan is briefly in the first season, too. We plan on shooting the first season in one week! The show is not about gay women.” Otalia fans may be disappointed to find out that Chappell’s and Jessica Leccia’s characters will not be romantically paired. Yet, anyway! Look for Chappell to return to DAYS on Oct. 2!

We Love Soaps, welovesoaps.net — Austin Peck Interview!

• Brad Snyder who? Roger Newcomb previews Austin Peck’s much buzzed-about new movie, The Blue Tooth Virgin, which is released today in N.Y./L.A. theatres — and interviews the actor. FYI, Peck shot this movie three years ago!

The Young and the Restless, CBS/Global — St. John not leaving Y&R! Bryton sounds off! Exclusive: Frantz love update!

• Would Bill Bell be proud? Click here to view Lauralee Bell’s latest instalment of Family Dinner.

• Watch out, Boris and Natasha! “I just wanted to have a bloody good time,” Judith Chapman tells Suds Report when asked why she chose her comedic Emmy reel submission. “Greg Rikaart said the nicest thing to me the other day. Anyone who is a real actor will know that it takes a real actor to play drunk. Listen, I sat with Jill Mitchell, Greg, and Christian LeBlanc to decide which work to hand in, and our strategy was to be different than all the ‘dead baby’ episodes which always win the awards.” As for La Chapman returning to the story front on Y&R, the former DAYS star is thrilled. “After Gloria received her comeuppance by going to jail, I told Maria Arena Bell that I didn’t want her to jump right back into her hijinks because it would negate the heartbreaking redemption she experienced in jail,” the yoga-loving diva says.

• Oh, the black drama! Victoria Rowell isn’t the only one bitching and moaning about current Y&R storylines. Emmy winner Bryton James tweeted this recently: “How about mix ‘us’ up with the actors we have [instead] of bringing on new ones? I want out of our ‘black box’ … [but] still happy to be working.” The Emmy winner tells Suds he didn’t mind Devon’s incestuous romp with his “aunt” Tyra because “it was a more traditional soap opera love/sex story, which Y&R never writes for me. I get all the social issues.”

• We interrupt Suds Report for a very important announcement. Kristoff St John refutes online rumours that Y&R is writing the sexy brother out of storyline permanently. “I do not plan on leaving Y&R anytime in the near or distant future,” the Emmy winner wrote. “The Internet is plagued with rumours! Do not listen to false gossip! I have no desire to leave the landscape of Genoa City! Realize that storytelling is cyclical, and my non-presence on the show is merely a ‘vacation.’ I love all of my friends! Thank you for your support and concern! Loose lips sink ships!”

• Miss John Abbott? Jerry Douglas has slated a slew of appearances in Ontario in October. Go to his Facebook page to learn more.

• Jeanne Cooper’s boy toy, Christian LeBlanc, tells The Suds Report that GL cut a kissing/making out scene between the actors at the Springfield double wedding featuring Billy/Vanessa and Buzz and Lillian! All together now, “Ewww!” For once, GL made a smart decision! Oh, we kid … I would have killed to see it.

• Look out for the re-release of Eric Braeden’s western epic film, The Man Who Came Back. The Emmy winner directed, produced, and acted in the project (and he probably took care of craft services, too!).

• Sorry, I really tried but I’m not enjoying John Driscoll as Chancelot. Is the actor addicted to popping sleeping pills all day or something?

• Victoria Rowell’s Obama dress garnered a mention on Entertainment Weekly’s back page! When Rowell showed up to jewelry designer Lucy Kilislian’s Candy Ice party last night, she joked to Suds, “Tonight, I’m wearing my Sarah Palin pants to be fair!” Rowell is the second Y&R star to grace the magazine’s popular Bulls-Eye column in recent weeks: Stacy Haiduk made it a couple of weeks ago with her Emmy Kitty.

Meanwhile, Rowell defended her fashion choice to essence.com here. Here’s an excerpt —

“This has nothing to do with reparations, Mr. Beck, and everything to do with all things American,” Rowell says. “Health care shouldn’t be divided or thought of as the young and some of us. I have witnessed Black and White foster mothers struggle to raise children, choosing food over medical needs. That does something to a child. At least it affected me most profoundly. And if a frock (on the Emmys red carpet) donned with the President’s face sparks dialogue about health care, a life-and-death issue, so be it. I was taught, ‘If you don’t stand for something you’ll lie down for anything.’”

• Kate Linder is not worried about the future of the Daytime Emmy Awards nor the soap opera industry. “Daytime is not going anywhere,” the vet swears to Suds. “Y&R is still No. 1 in the ratings.” Did La Linder ever think that she’d receive a front-burner storyline so late in her career? “Never,” she smiles. “I’m so honoured that Y&R SORAS’d Chloe/Kate with the very talented and beautiful Elizabeth Hendrickson.” Like mother, like daughter. “Elizabeth was a difficult birth though,” Linder jokes. She’s here all week, folks.

• Couple Update: At the Candy Ice launch, Adrienne Frantz and I caught up. She brought her boyfriend, Scott Bailey, with her and reports, “we’re so in love that we’re moving in together right away!” Congrats, Adrienne — you deserve it! And Scott’s a keeper. The former GL star is oh-so-handsome in person.

SOAP OPERA MYSTERY HOUR — This week’s blind items

—Which former west-coast super-couple isn’t together anymore on-screen because the actress physically assaulted her co-star? It was so brutal that the network legal department had to get involved. And to think the fans think it’s the writers who broke up the popular pairing!

—Which major film star and former soap star told Suds that she was “happy GL was cancelled,” at this year’s Toronto Film Festival? “What. A. Disaster,” she said, mimicking Chelsea Handler.

—Which west-coast loser brags to anyone who will listen to how hot his new fiancée is, but in reality, we hear he's much more of a “meat & potatoes” kind of a guy. And word is, he's also hung!

This all seems to be rehashing of other, better written and more concise items from others, mixed with cattiness and yet another comment about big dicks.

It's all becoming like a parody of Samantha on SATC.

Oh totally, I am completely with you Carl, I just mean that I think he's trying to get our collective goat at this point... he knows how groan-worthy we find his salacious, dubious blind items to be, and our feelings about his lack of journalistic integrity in a TV Guide column of all places gets more talk than the BIs themselves. I was just reading posts over at TWoP and it's a matter of discussion over there too.
